Tikka T3x Arctic (C19)... Cartridge.

Aren't these like 3k, could probably build one for half the price. And it still won't have crf.

Dunno, it’s a sweet rifle, but, bloody pricy for a bolt action in the most common cartridges you can get.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think its ugly as sin. Even being a bolt action guy.

This rifle is neat, but I think impractical. It's like an updated Lee-Enfield. But in the 21st century I think they should have given them something more like this instead and slap some kind of issue optic on it.

I like it for the iron sights but yes way to much $$$ for what it is. They replaced the old british 303 rifle for the rangers with those, I'm still shooting 303 and will continue unless these get cheaper. A tikka Tac a1 is cheaper than that, its just crazy pricing.

Have you thought about the CTR. You don't get irons, but you do get the 10 round mag, the 20" barrel in a slightly heavier contour. The synthetic stock actually ends up being lighter making for an easier to carry rig. All for about $1000 in blue and $1100 in SS. That's about $1300 more for irons and laminated wood.

I have the CTR in 308 and standard Tikka T3's in 308 and 6.5 CM. To be honest the much lighter T3 is every bit as accurate as my CTR.

As to barrel length you'll do fine at 20" with either. The 6.5 will still remain stable at 1000 yards from a 20" barrel.

I remember there were some cool rifles built for there contract, I can't find the list tho. I know colt and cz had guns, I remember there were some thing they didn't want in the rifle that I thought was stupid, like no crf.

Lots of really interesting modern bolt action rifles out there these days..... so long as you're right handed.

So playing with quickload I ran them both at 60K psi, and the CM has about 150fps higher velocity with best propellents and default settings.
A handloader could better 2450 (according to QL) by as much as 150fps with the 180ABs

I really like the looks of that gem , I would like to put those sights on my T3x ,now that would be sweet.

I figure the T3x Arctic is built strong enough to bludgeon polar bears in case the rifleman drops their magazine in the deep snow.

I'm not sure a hollow poly stock would be up to the same task in sub-zero temps.

Is purdy but not purdy enough to justify the price (for me).

Makes me think that someone, somewhere has a Ruger GSR with an orange painted stock at half the price of the T3x Arctic.

Or an 85 year old Bubba’d rifle from the early days of the Soviet Union LOL.

FWIW, Mike at the 'Bloke on the Range' YT channel has been doing some interesting range work with a T3x Arctic Ranger model (C19) clone. I think he said it cost around $3K NIB to buy one in Europe (in equivalent Swiss Francs.)

Spoiler: he sounded like a real fanboy at the start, but immediately experienced problems with the factory front sight on the range. He had to have it factory serviced to get the problem ironed out to his evident satisfaction.
