Bersaguy was right. That sure looks like something that fell out of my tailgate handle years ago. Either that or the tension spring that sets the height of the head of my vacuum cleaner.
I still think your wife put it in your reloading room to distract you.Bersaguy was right.
My cousin came by today to bring me some egg cartons. I fill them up with fresh hen eggs and send him some every now and then. Anyway, when he came by today I remembered that I ordered him a tailgate handle for his truck a while back, and I asked him how it was working. He said that it wasn’t working right, and would only unlatch on one side. I said “Wait here a minute”, and went to get the spring. I asked him if it looked like anything that might be missing from the assembly, and he said that it sure looked like it would fit. I’m going to say that there’s a 90%+ chance that it was loose inside the package, and fell out when I brought it inside the house. From there, it must have somehow migrated around until settling in my reloading room for me to find. We’ll find out in a couple days for sure, but I believe it’s the only explanation that fits.
Ditto that for my first thought. (Before reading the whole thread, ha ha)It kind of reminds me of a Browning Buckmark magazine disconnect safety.
Could be.I still think your wife put it in your reloading room to distract you.
The only thing worse are the pin gremlins that leave mystery pins for me to find after I reassemble a gun following detail strip for end of season thorough clean.
It's a thingamagajigger made from a old wire coat hanger. I make them all the time. They can serve multiple purposes and come in very handy in a pinch.
