Welcome, Lee! Lee is my last name so always happy to have another Lee on board. Sounds like you have a world of experience that will be welcome at THR. Thank you for the intro and I hope you feel at home here.

Hello all,
I’ve been a lurker here for years. I joined a few days ago and have been posting some already, but I figured I might as well introduce myself. I’m 37 and have been shooting regularly since I was 6. Born and raised in Tennessee in the foothills of the Ocoee mountains. I’ve got trigger time behind some 300+ firearms, and currently own about 50. I reload as well, though I haven’t been doing it all that long. I enjoy all forms of firearms and all things related to them. I’m always happy to bring new recruits into the world of firearms, and pass along any knowledge I can. I’m also fanatical about learning anything I can, wether it be firearms history, new techniques, new platforms, ballistics, the lists goes on.
Glad to be here, and look forward to learning and contributing.

Welcome aboard, BigBoreBubba! As you have seen, it's a pretty laid back group of gun enthusiasts with a lot of collective knowledge and wisdom, and the usual assortment of personalities to keep things interesting. We try to keep things civil and respectful, which can be a challenge in this day and age. We think it is worthwhile. I've made some great friends here I've never met in person (yet). Thanks for the introduction. Enjoy!

New here, hello from western PA. Just another old guy who stumbled across this forum while searching for some gun info for my older sister. I have a small collection (I'm sure compared to many of you) of rifles, shotguns and handguns.

Hello, Kbear007! We are glad you found us and we hope you will get the information you need. We enjoy firearms and the people who use them, however sporadically, and we try to maintain a positive outlook. Most of us are old enough to have learned to treat people well, so I hope your experience confirms that. Please don't hesitate to ask questions and enjoy the resource.

rust collector,
Yep, I guess many of us are old enough to know ... you get what you deserve, so behave yourself!

The info I was seeking was answered quickly. One look at this site earlier and I knew it was full of knowledge. Let's see what an old guy can still learn - though I may have a touch of old guy adhd or whatever they call it. That just means I'd rather be out playing than inside reading lol.

Thnx for the kind words ...

I'm Jim, originally from South Africa, now a citizen of New Zealand. Living in New Zealand has many benefits, but since the Christchurch mosque shooting, firearms are somewhat under attack. Why am I here? Well, there is an awful lot of knowledge on THR, and I believe every day should be a school day - if you aren't learning, you aren't living.

About me - I'm 51 and married, with 2 grown kids who still live at home whole pursuing studies. A long time ago, I served as an officer in the South African corps of military police.

Hello everyone! Heard good things about this site, lurked every-so-often for a time, finally came up with a name I liked (loved the movie when I was a kid) so here I am.

Long-time gun owner, collector, competitor (for a time), hunter, even paid to "carry a gun" for a bit. Conservative / libertarian. Very outgoing person, both online and in-person. Variety of jobs held, currently a landlord and odd jobs man. Not married but engaged.

Eager to take part.

Father Goose, you could also go by "Carry" Grant! I am also a fan of that movie. We are delighted to add you to the ranks and hope will enjoy your time here. JimNZ, we hope you never lose your desire to learn more. There is a world of experience among our members, and we all have much to learn. Thanks for the intros and we hope you enjoy your time here.

I'm a big Cary Grant fan....started with seeing "Father Goose" in 1986 and taping it. I could probably still quote 99 percent of the movie. My fiance looks a lot like the leading lady and her bio is somewhat similar.

Hey everyone! Glad to be here. Reloading is pretty confusing sometimes haha. I've got a little experience from a few years ago, with a friend watching over my shoulder, but a lot of it seems to have stuck with me, thankfully.

Just picked up 5,000 rounds of brass, hornady 90gr projectiles, 16 pounds of Power Pistol, and a bunch of .223 components, from a friend of a friend type deal.

However, I'm really interested in reloading .308, and creating some interesting loads.

Look forward to learning!

Welcome, Helias86. Reloading is good therapy, but make sure you have worked up a good load or two before churning them out on a large scale. There should be plenty of experience and advice available for 308 Win and 7.62 NATO. We are glad to have you on board and look forward to reading of your results.

Welcome, Whidbey Mike! You should be able to glean all sorts of information here. You might also check out http://accuratereloading.com/ for recipes. They are based in the Emirates, I believe, but have been around a long time. We are delighted that you are signing on, and thank you for the introduction. You live in a beautiful part of the world.

Greetings.

SKS. USSR, China, Albania, Romania, Yugoslavia.

Welcome, Derek! Always good to have an expert in the field. We are happy to have you on board. Thank you for the intro. Now just don't get the M-1 faithful stirred up! :D

603Country. New guy here. I use the same name on other forums, so some of you may recognize it. Live in east central Texas on our ‘ranchette’. I reload for rifle and pistol. Retired, and 73 years old. Hello to you all from an old Marine (early 1970’s).

Welcome, 603Country! I hail from 605(area code) country. We are pleased that you found us and want to hang around. A brief read of the THR primer will explain our goals and way of interacting, and I think you will be a welcome addition to the community. Questions are always welcome and we never close (unless we are de-energized without warning, as happened earlier this week).

Hello! Been a lurker for years. Has been rifle competitor. Attempted IPSC back in the 80's until High Power Rife came along and owned me for years. Only plink with the other old guys now. Still shoot and reload a lot.
Corkgun

Welcome, Corkgun. We are glad you decided to sign on. You have more experience under your belt than many of the younger crew can even imagine. This place is a gold mine of information, and we still have that drive to help other shooters if they will accept help. Thanks for the intro and enjoy your stay!

Greetings from Colorado! Joined back in January, lurked & just got permission to post yesterday.
Long time hunter, firearm enthusiast, reloader, and curator/armorer of my humble collection.
Looking forward to learning & sharing with all of you.

Not too nasty I hope! Welcome aboard, Nasty Canasta! You sound like our kind of people, and we hope you enjoy your time here. You will encounter many different viewpoints, experience levels and ages, united in enjoyment of firearms and mutual respect. It's good to have you with us.
