Hello all,
My name is Robert and my go to rifle is a Tikka M695 300 WIN-MAG with a Shepherd DRS 6-24 x 50 scope. I have several guns, but that is my favorite. I have reloaded for approx 28 years and really like shooting and reloading. My favorite hand gun is a Desert Eagle 44 Mag, but my favorite carry is a Glock 21 45 ACP. I am an 8 year Army veteran and I am looking forward to conversing and learn from all of you.

"Keeping and bearing arms is not only a fundamental right; it is a fundamental duty upon which all liberty and sovereignty is based."
- Donald L. Cline

Thank you for the info, 300 WIN-MAG. We are glad that you found us, and hope you enjoy your time here. There are many good folks sharing good information and wisdom. We have found here that a bit of respect and deference helps the information flow unimpeded. We look forward to your involvement, as it is folks like you that increase our information base and collective IQ. The THR primer in the general guns discussion has useful background info.

New Member. Looking forward to learning and contributing, thank you for having me.
  • Long gun and shotgunner, reloading for 3 decades. Hunting pursuits, sporting clays.
  • Own just about every caliber of rifle from .17 HMR, thru .300 Weatherby. Reload all of the centerfires. Shotguns, from .410 through 12 gauge.
  • Favorite rifle: .221 Fireball, built it about 25 years ago (pre commercial rifle availability)
  • Favorite shotgun: Sweet 16 A5 (only new gun my Grandpa ever purchased back in 1949).

Welcome, Farmermail. You sound like a good fit for this motley crew. I thought about trying to work up a CZ 527 rifle in a Fireball, but they got hard to find for awhile and then ammo dried up. Anyway, thanks for the intro and we are glad to have you on board.

Good Morning THR members. I’m new to this forum but I’ve participated at Sig Talk, Colt and 1911 forums for many years. The good folks at ST recommend THR for the incredible content. Thanks to the mods for the welcome note and the fine work they do in maintaining this forum. My name is Tom and I’m a passionate 2A supporter.

Good morning! I joined last year, finally introducing myself. Been shooting since I was eight, mostly with the S&W K22 my dad got me new for my fifteenth birthday. I love that gun, have put many thousand of rounds through it and it's just a joy to shoot. My grandfather's Remington Model 11 still shoots perfectly at almost 100 years old, and it sits next to the 870 I just inherited from my father (RIP to both).

Now that the kids have grown up I've got the urge to buy some hardware I've always wanted. Picked up a Lee Progressive and have been slowly setting it up to reload for the M&P Shield 9 I got last year to replace my Model 60 carry piece. Just got a complete 80% G19 build kit from Zaffiri (flash sale I couldn't pass up, a little more Gucci-looking than I really like but not too bad) and a competition trigger from Johnny Glocks; the parts look great on inspection and I'll take my time about finishing the build so as to (hopefully) not screw it up.

I’ve some reloading questions that I’ll be posting to the appropriate sub-forum, but for now it’s just hello and glad to be here, and thanks for the helpful information I’ve already found.

Welcome, TA! We are delighted to have you on board. I am also a Tom in real life, and was out after pheasants earlier today. We try to offer good information and a bit of respite from a world that seems increasingly stressful, so I hope you will enjoy your time here. I am sure you will be right at home.

Hello, chilehed! There should be something here for everyone who enjoys guns and shooting sports, and your participation will make it better yet. It's a great place to hang out, and I have learned a lot here over the years. We appreciate the introduction and look forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome aboard, CW_Smith. Small centerfire rifles are enormous fun, especially when the ammunition supply is not impaired. We are grateful for your intro and interest.

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
Hello everyone on the High Road, I have made a number of posts already before properly introduceing me, myself and I, so here goes: lived in a small valley at the southeast side of Beautiful Mt. Adams ( has a natural rock formation forming the letters USA on the SE Side covering maybe 1000' high ). Began shooting at age 8, still going strong at 83+ old, discovered an old homestead with two 40 acre fields, rectangular shape, HIGH hill on south side, maybe 50' high hill on far east end of 2nd field, edge of trees west to edge of trees east tape ¹00' measured distance 1 1/4 Miles, right you are, perfect rifle range, used it for years.
Reload all my ammo for precise accurate rounds, started with a Lyman All American Turret Press, bought new when I was 12 years old, still using AATP, 71 years now and no problems whatever with this press. Hunted in most all Western States, love to canyon hunt, sit and glass, glass, glass, see more game animals by far using this method. Hunted Caribou around Cold Bay, Alaska, filled my tags each trip, learned the HARD WAY, don't drag a carcass across the TUNDRA, sheer brutality on a person's body.

Welcome to the community, Jackalope 1! Sounds like you have plenty of experience earned the old fashioned way. It's good to have you on board, and we thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself. Your wisdom will be a wonderful addition to our knowledge base. Please make yourself at home and enjoy!

Been lurking on and off for a while, the recent ammunition shortage led me to join to share info and have someone to commiserate with.
I enjoy shooting and hunting when I get the chance.
I'm an economist by trade, so I tend to follow that side of the firearms hobby fairly closely.

Welcome, Will! It is certainly good to hear from you and we are delighted that you elected to join up and be a part of it all. Despite living in interesting times, we all have much to be thankful for. I hope you will enjoy your time here and make it a better experience for others as well.

Welcome, Glockoma86! We are glad you found us. When time permits, you may want to check out the THR primer in the general gun discussion area. Make yourself at home!

Hello to all. Im shooting since 7 years young and became shooting instructor at 40. Im 45 btw.
I live in Brazil and here is really tough for gun people. Things improved thanks to Bolsonaro (this guy is awesome!), but could be way better.
Avid shotgunner, I like everything that goes bang. Even air rifles.
Looking forward to learn from the awesome crowd that we have here.

Welcome to the community, BrazilianSnowMan. We hope you will enjoy the people here, and it will be good to see how things work in Brazil. I will recommend that you read the sticky notes posted in the various areas, and the THR primer in the general gun discussion section. Thank you for the introduction.

Hello, I am new member here. Glad to join this forum. I am a gun lover. I have Sig Sauer P320 & Smith & Wesson Model 686+.
Thank you!

Hello mystyle2021, and welcome! We try to provide a positive and respectful site where you can learn more about weapons and shooting. Please read the sticky notes at the head of each section that interests you, and get acquainted with the THR primer in the general gun discussion. That will help you through the alphabet soup that shows up on occasion. We hope you enjoy what we have to offer, and thank you for the introduction.

Welcome aboard, Thwap! Nice screen name. There is a lot of wisdom and experience here, and yours will make it better. The key distinction of this outfit is that we try to remain civil and respectful. That lets the information flow freely without some of the antics seen on other forums. Please check out the sticky notes at the top of each section you visit, and use the THR primer to see how things are supposed to work and decode abbreviations. Thank you for the intro, and we hope you continue to enjoy the show.

Hello Forum Registered yesterday. About me; life long shooter, retired state prison guard, living in NW Florida. Wish that back in the 1990's bought more 3" K-frames and Hk .22's then just looking at them in magazines because today I'd be rich then (maybe in my next life do it right). So currently exploring getting into air rifles, thinking .25cal but need more education on the topic before acquiring, like very much the Condor SS from AirForce. Another crazy phenomenon always believed in shooting what I have, no safe queens here, then earlier this years acquired a NIB 3913 and I cannot bring myself to take it to the range. Anyways thats thats. Cheers
