They’re out.

The stocks are running low and with the cold weather the gremlins have been out foraging.
One sacked me last night.
444D5C7C-D16B-4A42-845A-A27D73A6E497.jpeg Covid free(again) and able to smell and hear once more, mostly, I went to the Sanctum to make up some SWCs. When I picked one up to set the bullet I noticed Magic Dust fell out.

Darned Reloading Gremlins came and scarfed up a pistol primer!
I didn’t even see any sign of them being there. The radio wasn’t on. My phone was in the other room, and the kids are gone for the weekend. The floor of the loading room was even freshly vacuumed. There was no primer.

I hope I find a single primer at the bottom of this bucket of 45 Auto I’ve been working. Then I’ll see if the pocket was loose. (No, obviously it wasn’t loose on a 45 case, it was the gremlins!)

Of course it was the single time I try to use a charging block.
I usually batch load, one case, powder, seat bullet. But I thought I’d try the block because the Lee collator and tube makes it easy to fill the block, by moving the tube across the holes. Usually it’s difficult for my hands to fill and remove the short cases from the block, but filling was easy with the tube, and the bullet pressed into the mouth before I pick it made it easy to get them out.
It really made it much faster.
(Now that I my compulsiveness to weigh every charge has been assuaged by an extensive powder drop evaluation, and realization that I can’t shoot the difference with a pistol.)

Faster, except for the opportunity for those evil little buggers to covertly acquire components. I didn’t flip every single case over to inspect for a primer. And of course, why would there be a primer missing from all my prepped brass? It’s pretty straightforward, single case, prime head, drop into bucket. What could go wrong?

GREMLINS! That’s what!:D

Maybe I’ll go and use some of these two hundred up, it’s now nine whole degrees out.;)

So, watch for those saboteurs. They like shiny things, just like me, and can hide in the smallest of spots. A flash hole is cavernous to a gremlin, and I believe they can travel using Nisse Space just as a Gnome can.
I also feel they like 32 Auto brass more than others. Perhaps the cases make cheap beer steins? :scrutiny:

Thanks for reading. Be on the lookout for gremlins and good deals on components. I hope you can increase your stocks in this cold season, and all your problems are equally minuscule!:)

Yeah, it’s hard to tell from my weird angle that’s four of the eight grains of Silhouette I had in there.
(And I should have put the picture below the description to make more sense.)

I took the larger light out to move it to the new digs. It looks like it’s going to be a while to get the new bench just right, and heated, so I took a morning to make some stress relief medication.:)

Luckily just in time! Or they woulda made off with more!:D

A buddy ran out of primers in his progressive before he ran out of brass, and loaded some without primers.
He just ran them thru' again, to seat more primers. Unhappily, some of the Bullseye trickled out, and it may be that there was a detonation event, because it blew up a 3" M60.
Durn gremlins...

Those gremlins are real. I lost a Federal large rifle primer a few weeks back. I cleaned the area completely and never found it. One day they’ll raise an army against us. Using lost primers and the 9 mm brass that rolls away but isn’t worth chasing, and those socks we lose in the dryer. I only hope we are ready for that day.

I’m afraid to vacuum my reloading room! :( those gremlins are evil, especially if you feed them at night or, god forbid, water them

I didn't know Covid affected the brain! Gremlins? :)

On the Serious side, I'm really glad you got through the stupid Covid infection in one piece. I probably wouldn't fair as well. I take 10 grams of C vitamin a day to keep the immunity strong. It's that or die for me at my age and condition.
