I recently switched to a strong mount and have the spent primer tube running through my bench to drop the spent primers in a box. I love this setup because it normally is very clean and I dont accidentally kick over the spent primer bucket.
However, recently the brass spent primer tube has been coming loose. Unfortunately I cannot get enough leverage on it to tap it back in properly. I believe my only recourse will be to unbolt the press from the strong mount and flip it over and tap the brass tube back in properly.
Has anyone else had this issue? Looking for potential better fixes than just tapping it back in. I do not want to take the thing apart and have this happen again because it is a pain and causes delays. I thought about adding some epoxy to the tube when I tap it back in but dont want to get any epoxy inside the tube and potentially block spent primers.
I believe I had a kink in plastic tube that caused the primers to back up and forced the brass tube out of the press. Of course this tells me that the plastic tube is VERY tight on the brass tube....maybe too tight and that was the main problem. I would rather the plastic tube fall off versus the brass tube come out of the press.
Sorry if I am rambling.
Thanks.
