Just got an Email from CEO of Sportsmans Warehouse ...

As of Dec 2 2021...the meager with Great American outdoors (the parent company of Brass Pro and Cabelas...aka, the bastards that ruined Cabelas)..HAS BEEN TERMINATED!

Sportsmans will continue to be an independent and growing company!

Ya hoo!

This is very good. SW is about the only good sport chain in Washington, and they just opened a new store in Whatcom co. I haven't been in yet because of the Ass-pro relationship, not worth finding a parking space. Now I'll go.
I used to go to Cabelas every few months when passing the Marysville store. For the last year and a half, It hasn't been worth getting off the freeway.

When I walk into a Cabelas, I get the “I’m better than you feeling” from the staff. If I go in I look and don’t buy. They rubbed me real wrong a few years ago.

Personally I wish Runnings would get larger/more popular. I like being able to buy guns and ammo at the farm store.

Hurrah!!!!! We're saved!

It would be even better news if they moved back into our area. Glad they cold hold out, it’s better for us to not have all eggs sold from the same basket.

Amen to that. I remember when Sports Authority discontinued all gun sales, and who can forget Dick's decision to not sell assault rifles? Imagine if the BPS/Cabela's corporation folded to public opinion.

(Then again, their gun prices are so high, who would buy from them?)

I'll have to check SW out. I only go to BP for camping gear or fishing tackle (I allready know what I want). There's a SW that just opened up a year ago not far from me. I live in Southern California and most people don't even know what to with half the stuff in BP anyway.
It’s down the freeway a few miles from me. I haven’t been there yet myself, but I have shopped in the Fresno and Carson City, Nv stores a few times. I really like SW, glad they escaped from Darth Cabela and the Evil Empire.

Stay safe.

The SW in Albuquerque was my favorite store before news of the merger. They went down quick after that. The employees just quit caring and the store has been bare shelves for over a year. I'll start going there again to see what, and when, they get in.

I used to be a big fan of Cabela's. I still carry their credit card, but I haven't bought anything from them in a very long time. They have a store in Albuquerque that I never go to. Their prices suck.

Sportman's stock fell a good bit back right after the merger was cancelled. I guess all the people that thought they would make a profit with the merger were disappointed and got out.

I myself refuse to buy anything, even camping gear from a company that helps pee on my rights. I will now go back to SW.

You'll have to elaborate more on this. I'm not aware of BPS/Cabela's or SW doing anything anti 2A. (Well, seems like there was some bru-ha-ha a couple years back, but can't recall what for.)
