Looking at a new everyday carry pistol, and have narrowed it down to these two - the Sig P365X and the Kimber micro 9 khx . Both in 9mm. I’ve never owned a Kimber, although a few buddies profess how great they are. I do have a Sig P320, which I love. If you have either of these, lemme know your pros or cons and help me make up my mind. I used to be indecisive, but now I’m just not sure. Thanks!

I've got three SIGs; had three Kimbers, but currently, just one.
Sorry, I'm not your sales person or financial advisor.
This decision is on you. Good luck. Let us know what you get if anything.

Sig and the Way!

I was talking with my gun counter buddy and he showed me how easy it was to get the gun of battery. It was the Kimber Solo, but they might share the same design

I'm in the "fit the gun to the gunowner" school of thought. The Kember and Sig have different grip angles that must be accounted for before betting your life on a handgun.

I recommend buying as many different quality firearms as you can reasonably afford and CARRY the one that you can hit with reliably under pressure.

Kimber Micro's have a rep of being snappy and very picky on ammo. I believe you need to use hot ammo to get them cycle somewhat reliably. Capacity is in the Sig's favor too. I have some P320s and some P365's. All are reliable and will run pretty much any ammo. Wife wanted a Kimber Micro as her first CC gun, but research (and store personnel) talked her out of it.

I have 3 Sigs of the P365 variant: P365, P365XL, and P365X. The X is my favorite. Enjoy.

This is all great info! I think I’m going to go with my gut instinct I had to begin with and get the Sig. I’ve been researching all morning, now the decision is one with a Romeo sight or not? So many damn choices!

Go with the Romeo option and practice your draw. Since it co-wintness with your iron, you will get a quicker sight picture with both.

Always leave the reddot one, never turn it off.

Sig = bankrupt German Company

Kimber = 100% US made product with company going strong

It's a no brainer for me... Kimber all day long.

(check out the kimber 1911 rapide black ice or the micro rapide black ice)

OK, I've got more time to put some more thoughts down.
For the OP, I do hear good things regarding SIG's P365 series. Most, if not all folks are very happy with the P365 series of guns.

The early P365 guns had a rough start with some broken/unreliable parts, but that seems to be completely in the past now. For polymer, I'm "entrenched" in the Glock brand.

My SIGs are discontinued or possibly maybe-discontinued-someday: P225; P229R, and P226R, all in 9mm.
I had a Kimber TLE II 5"; Warrior 5"; and still have an SIS 5", all in .45ACP. I considered a current 9mm LW 5", but decided to wait for something else or maybe nothing else. I think Kimber is strong in its 1911 offerings and maybe even its K6S revolvers (although those revolvers seem just a bit too-high-priced for my wants/needs).

Post 2 is always the right answer by getting both.

Last time I checked Sig is in New Hampshire… but hey I must be mistaken. Either way I like my Sigs as I also like Sako, which are Finnish. I agree with fit the gun to shooter and budget. I do not really have anything to offer on the Kimber side as I have never owned one.

I believe it is like the other Romeo sights, where they turn on when you raise them up, then auto off. Could be wrong
that’s even better, I have my Romeo 5 on for 2-3 years now. And my SRO has been on for 1 year and I change the battery every year

Personally, love a 365; shoot it well, runs all the time. Give the Romeo mixed reviews; have one on a slide, and just can't find the dot quickly enough. Too, I pocket carry; won't serve that way.
Had a Kimber Evo (was in the mood for a metal gun); worked after a trip to the mothership. Shot great, and had a good feel in the hand. The field strip was a giant PITA. Swapped it on a S&W M25.
Go with the SIG; you won't regret it.

What are you talking about? It breaks down like any modern gun.

I would choose the Kimber.

I've got a Sig 365xl and a P938 (chose it over a Kimber).

I don't carry my 365xl .... It's either a Sig C3 1911 or the P938.

I’d go Sig, have a couple and love them both.

Also, unless something has changed which is possible, the only thing Kimbers customer service people are allowed to say is

1: you just need to shoot it more to break it in.
2: it’s probably just the ammo.

That said, it’s your money, buy what you want.

Well, after debating in my head and reading more and more and more……Tuesday I will be heading out of town for work and will make a quick stop to pick up the (American made) Sig P365x. Closest gun store has one, but a ranch store where I’m headed has one also, but for $100 cheaper. It checks all my boxes, and yes, I have handled one quite a bit, just not shot it. Thanks for all your input!
