Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Bought a monopod yesterday. Wife and I are still slaying ground squirrels over on our friend's ranch a couple of mornings every week, and even though we never shoot at the ones that are more than 75 or 80 yards away, they're hard to spot unless we're standing. Consequently, we do most of our ground squirrel slaying while walking the fence lines so that we have nearby fence posts to rest our .22LR rifles and handguns against when we shoot.
When we go again this Friday morning, I'm going to try my new monopod. Maybe I won't have to look for a fence post every time I spot a ground squirrel.
BTW, our oldest grandson is home for a few days (he lives in Vegas now), and he called my wife asking if we would like to get together with him while he's here. We're taking him ground squirrel hunting on Friday morning. :D
Update: The monopod worked okay - it was steadier than offhand, not as steady as a fence post. I killed probably a half-dozen ground squirrels while using it, and so did our grandson.

5000 Ginex SPP primers made in Bosnia/Herzgovina from Capital Cartridge, thanks to someone who posted here recently.
About $95/1000 including tax. Pricey, but I paid it. Reports sound good, hope they work well.

Honestly, I didn't know that monopods were still a thing. My Arisaka T99 has one but it seems pretty unstable so I've never actually tried to shoot while using it; same with the "anti-aircraft" sights. Actually, my BIL has a drone, maybe he'll let me practice against it :D

100 rds. win. 9mm FMJ
Local range now does not allow reloads.
Outdoor range I like is 70 miles one way--don't take many trips(gas) to pay for the new factory cartridges.

Not bought, but bartered.

I traded the LGS 1,000 LPPs for 500 CCI 250s which I haven’t been able to find. Then bartered 2,000 more LPPs for a $150 credit on my next gun purchase.

A wide ‘bolt face (receiver) brush’ for the pair of PTR-91s ; HK-91 clones.

They get filthy after just 20 rds.

A roller-Delayed blowback rifle (these are chambered in .308)….is still a Blowback.

I should have explained better than I did. Tomorrow I'm picking up a Smith M&P 22 handgun. then on Friday a mint condition older Ruger MK II .22 Long rifle pistol with a 2X scope mounted on it. Needless to say I'm excited!

The Tisas B45 (M45) Enhanced Carry came in yesterday and I took it home and field stripped checked fit and finish and lubed it. Like the full size 1911A1 this came in a plastic clamshell case and with two magazines. These too appear to be Check-Mate but 8 rounders rather than 7. The finish is a black cerakote (?) rather than the grey/green (the great grey green greasy Limpopo river) semi Parkerizing of the former but the finish is uniform and smooth with no drips or rips or clips or crinkles.

So what's different?

First the size. This is a Commander size 4.25" barrel rather than the full 5" barrel on the GI model. It also is a Humphrey (the dictionary defines Humphrey as a flat back camel! sign placard made by one of my teenage Republicans for the 1968 Nixon rally in Greensboro, NC). In this case though it simply means it has a flat mainspring housing rather than the arched one on the full size. It has an aluminum skeleton trigger and the short stroke of the 1911A1. The hammer is also the skeleton type and the grip safety has a true extended beaver-tail with the reminder bump. Instead of the almost non-existent sights on the GI model this one has Novak style three white dot sights. The frame, slide and barrel are still hammer forged, the mag well slightly beveled and an ambi-thumb safety rather than just left side. The cocking serrations are slanted rather than straight and there is also a set of front press check serrations. Grip panels as just plastic but well done and comfortable. I can see a couple minor wear points, for example on one side of the reminder bump on the grip safety, but nothing indicating something worth worrying about.

I'll try to get over to one of the ranges for a function check this weekend.
