I emailed Sierra Bullets some months ago concerning production of .337 revolver bullets, never got an answer. Tried again earlier this week, and received a reply:

"We have been making other bullets but we will eventually get a machine switched back over to make our 357 diameter bullets again. It may take some time though, possibly into next year but I don’t have a date to quote you. Thank you for your patience and your interest in our products. I know how you feel, I’m waiting for them myself."

At least I got an answer. Not the same Sierra that I knew, prior to them selling out to an investment company.

Gotta feed the mag-dumpers. That's where the money's at.

If this is what Sierra is doing, it's probably also what every major ammo supplier is doing. But that can't possibly have anything to do with the scarcity of "revolver ammo." No, no. The "smartest kids" all say that's because revolvers are yuk. Nobody likes revolvers anymore and that's why there's no ammo for them lining the shelves.

It's interesting how some of the plated bullet makers have done a reasonable job of meeting demand, but most of the major jacketed bullet makers are over a year behind on many of their products. I had some 44 cal JHPs on backorder for over 18 months, and just recently told them to cancel the order. There is no shortage of companies interested in producing products in exchange for my money. Reloading isn't my only hobby.

I finally got some 140gr SGKs in.284 after searching for a long time. For pistol rounds I have gone to powder coated made locally and will never worry about going back.

This sounds like a personal response and not just a canned reply.

.337 Revolver bullets?

You know what I meant, wise guy, "357". Too late to edit the typo.

Been shooting a lot of cast bullets the past two years. The Hornady XTPs are good at magnum velocities, not so much at .38 or .44 speeds. Would be nice to have Sierra bullets available. Sad that they just completely shut down revolver bullet production.
