Hi All-

About 5 months ago I bought my first case feed stop for my Dillon 750. It was a 3D printed model from one of the popular Dillon accessory websites. I think I paid about $15 plus shipping, and it was great until it wore out and started popping out by itself. I was searching on youtube for reviews of other brands, and found a hack someone posted. Instead of buying a stop, use a spent .357 or 38 special case. They are far easier to use, and they're free. I told a range officer about this hack, and he had them both for me in 10 minutes. They're also easy to make holders for. :) Not sure if this hack works for other Dillon models.

I just use an allan wrench. Slide it, and the handle locks behind the toolhead pin. Almost like it was made for that. Same thing works on the 550 as well.

Why do you need a primer feed stop on a 750? It’s like all the other Dillon’s that can hold on to the same primer until it’s seated. The 650 is the only one that always feeds a new primer, no matter what.

Can you pls post a pic of the primer feed stop? Never thought of that.

So, somehow I missed the part about this being a 750. My brain saw 750 and interpreted it as a 650. I have a 650. So my case feed stop was for a 650, and my primer stop is for a 650. And my 650 is weird. I stripped off the Dillon powder rube Goldberg mechanism and put a lee auto drum on lee dies in the press. Them I modded a lee case feed to fit the Dillon. The lees powder drop is better. The lee case feed is just cheaper.

But here you go:

Am I missing something? Y'all got me concerned about something I may or may not be missing out on. What is the purpose of these mods? My 650 has quirks but nothing I think needs corrective action like what y'all are describing. Is this something unique to the 750?

Sometimes, you may be running, for example, 124gr 9mm loads, and want to switch to 147gr.

As you are adjusting the powder measure, and seating die, you don't want the 650 to keep feeding cases, until you're adjusted again.

. . . once setup, remove the Whiley-Coyote bent coathanger and carry on

Thanks.

I haven't used my casefeeder in years. I manually fill the tube. I'll have to keep this in mind when I manage to get a more permanent setup for my reloading hobby.
