well, it was more rimfire and glock 17 day, but the Model 10 got a box through it. I never really tried or was able to hit a gong with a pistol at 25 yards with any consistency, but there it was. Whatever it is about a fixed sight, on a barrel that does not recoil and move around, I get it - it is a bit slower and fewer rounds, but - anyway - I was very impressed with myself and my days shooting partner, for really kind of honing in a bit with the revolver. That thing has such a nice single action trigger.

I have a model 10-7 Hong Kong C&E gun. I bought it at Cabela’s in Oregon after having it transferred from the Cabela’s in Baton Rouge. When the gun arrived I was blown away at how nice the metal and bluing was. The grips looked old. They probably got swapped in Hong Kong before the gun was shipped back.
Here it is now with Altamont service panels.

Here it is with the original grip panels after I had just installed the BK adapter.

Used to have at least half a dozen or more Model 10s over the years but all I have right now is a WWII era S&W .38 Special M&P Model (not a Victory Model though). During the war these guns were issued to security guards at banks, defense plants, and other strategic places around the U.S.

I wouldn’t mind having a few model 10s but the prices are insane! Should have stocked up 10 years ago I guess. My pops had one softest shooting thing to ever grace my hands. It was my grandpas duty weapon. Not sure what happened to it.

Still a great piece of history. It’s very nice.

My alloy framed Model 12-2 4" barrel is almost the same as the Model 10 and is a joy to wear when bush hogging or walking in the woods.

I only own 1, it's an 4" M&P shipped in 1948 and the trigger is like glass. I bought it from a retired Constable who carried it his whole career. He even gave me the original holster he used for almost 40 years. I won't tell you the price but it was less than half what it was worth at the time. I told him it was not enough and he said, "Don't you want it?" So of course I stopped talking and handed over the cash lol.

Here it is along with it's little brother, the Chief's Special:

Im kind of amazed by all the K frame square butt pic's popping up recently. You dont see them very often around here in the shops.

While I have a SB Model 10 snubby, and had a 2" Victory with the same, I really prefer the RB's with the shorter barreled guns. Just feel better in the hand to me.
