Just snagged this 4” 10-7 this weekend. Hope to start testing it as soon as IAN passes on by- I pray!
I’m guessing from what I’ve read about the -7, it was made between 1977 and 1988? Please correct me if I’m wrong. 5BDA4F6C-C60F-4592-AEE1-24D500E4F0DA.jpeg

I've got a "4th change" hand ejector pre model-10, it was my first revolver. It dates to 1916. The guy who was selling it back in the 1980s thought it was from 1950s or 60s ....
It has a lot of holster wear, but the bore perfect and the action tight and glass smooth. Other than my mid-century Colt Python, no other revolver I own shows the hand workmanship evident in this S&W. Screenshot_20220926-081940_Gallery.jpg
I'll post some closer ups later on, this is the best one I have in the gallery at the moment.

I have 4 of them. A 10-8, a 10-6 birth year gun, and two NYPD ones, a 10-8 and a 1946 M&P. The 1946 one was issued to a patrolman that worked in the precinct I would 45 years later, and used that gun in a shootout that got him the Medal for Valor. I have the newspaper articles of him getting the medal. It’s my favorite gun.
