Every time my wife points out another news item regarding the folks running things currently I try to point out that roughly half the country might never have heard of that piece of news...Wish it weren't so, but that's the world we live in these days.

For that sad individual, relying on Bruen to get him off of any potential prosecution would certainly be an interesting turn of events.... If finally there's a prosecution... hope it's after his father is no longer in office...

His lawyers are suing the owner of the computer repair shop where he left his laptop claiming that the owner revealed private and confidential information. AT THE SAME time this POS claims the laptop is not his.

Before Bruen, Hillary Clinton said Heller 2008 and MacDonald 2010 were wrongly decided and she promised in 2016 to repeal them.
I can't imagine her or any True Democrat believing that Bruen 2022 built on top of Heller and MacDonald was correctly decided.
It is toally absurd to believe Hunter Biden's lawyers would rely on such a decision.

Hunter Biden bought a handgun some years ago. October 2018 Hunter Biden's girl friend Hailie Biden (his brother's widow) found the gun in Hunter's unlocked car and put his handgun in a garbage can at Janssen’s Market across street from a local high school in Wilmington, DE, because she feared he might commit suicide with it. He sent her back to get the gun and it was gone. Someone reported the loss to the local police. The FBI and Secret Service stepped in. Secret Service contacted the gun store and asked for the sale paperwork. On the Federal Firearms Transaction Form 4473 he answered "no" to the question: are you an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance as defined in the Controlled Substances Act. In his autobiography covering that time Hunter Biden later admitted that he was using crack cocaine multiple times a day.

Lying and buying on a 4473 is a federal felony offense. ATF has instructed gun dealers to refuse to sell a gun to a buyer who answers "no" to use of federally Controlled Substances but presents a state Medical Marijuana Card as ID. Currently 4 Jun 2023 the federal government criminalizes all use of marijuana regardless of your state's laws. Crack cocaine is definitely listed as a federally Controlled Substance.

It is amusing that Hunter's attorneys are citing Bruen, but the crime is not that he bought a gun while a drug user, but that he lied about it under penalty of perjury. He might have a case if he were suing to be able to buy a gun while using drugs, but lying on a 4473 is a crime regardless.

It's really only a crime for us 'lesser' sorts!
