Girsan MCP35 High Power

Outside of pull weight how's the trigger feel? Smoother? I've found that I can shoot well with a heavier pull if the trigger is smooth all the way through the pull.
The pull was pretty smooth after I removed the magazine disconnect.
Really didn't change with new firing pin block spring and hammer spring.

No not really, as the original 1911 was contracted to multiple companies
You are correct as far as it goes. To the best of my knowledge, there hasn't been a contract built 1911 since WW2. So my statement still stands. FN decided no halt production of the hi power so of course other manufacturers are going to step up and make there own versions. Dealers in my area can't keep them in stock.

But a lot more companies then the 'originals' make them today. Many far better then the originals.
I think to be fair you have to put things into perspective here. The "original" 1911's were all built to one specific spec, which they were to hold to, and designed to fire a specific ball ammo. What we have today, is far from that, and many of those are NOT "far better". ;)

What we have today is, is everyone and their brother turning out their "interpretation" of a 1911 and like a dog breed that becomes popular, that usually doesnt bode well for the breed. And in the case of the 1911's, this has proven to be the case.

and parts are not "drop in" and may not work properly. Same problem you may be seeing with your copy.

So I've reached out to BHSpring solutions 3 ways with no response 🤔
Guess I'll look into tuning the rest of the way on my own. Looking at their website,
their videos are great. Their product selection and shipping was great.
Trying to get a follow up to a question - non existed.
Tried 'Contact Us' on web site, email and Facebook with no response. Thinking about ordering a sear spring set but now not sure.
There's an old post on their Facebook of someone stopping payment due to a product issue and no response.
I do have lots of springs to play with 😃

Been reading and cruising the internet. Cylinder and Slide has all sorts of enhancement parts.
I've used cylinder and slide parts in the past and have a hi power at mk3 custom getting there parts installed among other upgrades as I type this. Always been pleased with the quality of the parts.

Cylinder and Slide has all sorts of enhancement parts. Inexpensive spring sets with a claim of 2# reduction.

The new pistol looks fantastic, very happy you survived the trip! C&S is actually no more so if you’re considering parts get them NOW!!! Otherwise EGW offers HP parts as does APEX, the latter claiming to have drawn inspiration from Garthwaite. Fingers crossed for better results.

I believe C & S is now employee-owned.

Skylerbone, good to hear from you. Haven't been on a thread with you for awhile. Hope all you shots are true.

Nice looking pistol. All I did to mine is put LOK grips on it and remove the mag safety. Runs great.

If you knew Hi Powers you'd know HP's of any flavor have always been known for bad triggers.
It's the geometry and linkage.
This is true. I've had two actual BHps. The one has a really clean trigger, crisp, it all goes at once. It is entirely Belgian. The other was an itinerary gun, finished in Portugal. It had a relentlessly mediocre trigger, heavy and creepy. I made it go away.
My Springer has the best trigger of the three.

Not meaning to pick nits, but weren't the WWI 1911s strictly a Colt proposition, unlike WWII, when several manufacturers made them?

In the context of what was said and the reply, the reply was correct; indeed it could not be said for ALL non-Colt 1911s and the explanation of their being manufactured by various companies suffices as evidence, no matter the time period produced.

Many a hair could be split concerning the word “original” but an A1 differs only in exterior part dimensions rather than function.
