Looks like I may have a type. Show me your favorite 3" revolvers on this fine 3" Saturday.

Bottom to top, left to right we have:
-Diamondback Sidekick Birdshead in .22 lr/ .22 wmr.
- Iver Johnson Model 3 in .38 S&W.
-Charter Arms Professional in .32 H&R Magnum.
-Charter Arms Pitbull in .380 acp.
-Taurus 905 in 9mm.
-Ruger SP101 in .327 Federal Magnum.
-Kimber K6S in .357 Magnum
-S&W Governor in .410 Bore/.45 Colt/.45 acp and we all know the Governor is a bit special so it gets an exemption for only being a 2.75".
-Ruger GP100 in 10mm.
-S&W 629 Deluxe in .44 Magnum.

Which of these fantastic revolvers is coming to the range with me today, you may ask? Why the Diamondback Sidekick and I am only bringing .22 shorts cause I got a hankering to chronograph those little buggers.

I'm more of s 2.5-2.75 guy myself, but here are some of my 3"ers.

Since you broke your own rule with your 2.75", I'll follow your leas with a 2.75" of my own. S&W 69 Combat Magnum.

Years ago, I acquired a 2-1/2" model 66. I wish I'd ordered a 3", because .357 cases don't fully eject from a 2.5".
357 cases would most likely eventually crack the forcing cone, so it was probably a blessing in disguise. FYI: If you're ever in the market, the modern model 2.75" model 66 solves the forcing cone issue, has a stronger lock up, and a full length ejection rod.

I'm a fan of 4" barrels, but even I have found room for a couple of 3" ones.

Smith and Wesson 3rd Model Hand Ejector, I frame, in 32 Smith and Wesson Long. From about 1920. Barrel is actually 3 1/4" but close enough

At the other end of the spectrum, a brand new Taurus 327 T.O.R.O., in 327 Federal Magnum, with a 3" barrel. I did stick an RDS on it for a while, but took it back off pretty quickly. It sees a lot more 32 Longs than it does 327 Magnums. It went to the range with me this morning for an additional 50 rounds of reloaded 32's.

I don’t own enough 3” revolvers. 30-1 is probably the prettiest. I just got an INA that’s pretty remarkable on looks though, and then there’s the junky old Arminius 22lr that does pretty good on the range except for 1 chamber that’s not timed exactly right. My Wrangler is mighty fine too. J frame size 3” guns look and feel wonderful. Y’all have some real beauties.
