Dan-O why would you not carry your 625JM? I have shot one and it is a really fine shooting revolver. O occasionally carry my 22-4 and it works out fine but a 4 inch barreled N frame is not easily concealed OWB. Just for a change i think i will wear it this weekend :)

Better question would be why would I? I've got a lot of other revolvers and bottom feeders that better suit MY carry needs.

Here's the question should I buy the S&W .45 acp revolver right away or should I wait for the possible release of the Charter Arms .45 Pitbull. Obviously cost could play a role but maybe quality is more important wat do you wheel gunners think?
Have you considered S&W in .45 "Colt Longo"? The "Ole' Black Powder Wonder" is far superior revolver cartridge in EVERY way.

Yes, I believe it will mostly be target practice Abe shoot up some over all length (to long) reloads if I ever had any, novelty pece to go with the 1911. Really nothing to out of the ordinary.
With that in mind have you considered one of the excellent single action Rugers? They also have convertibles available with a 45acp and 45 long Colt cylinder so you can have the best of both worlds. :)

I actually have a new vaquero in .357, you are absolutely correct about excellent revolver, but I was thinking of something in double action, it would be really nice if one could get .45 acp in a redhawk, I would have one already no questions asked.:)

I'm sure that it would be a popular revolver. I'm sure that some gunsmith could build you one but unsure what your total investment would be vs. just getting a S&W to start with.

Man, If you have the geld, then the vintage S&W is the HANDS DOWN choice. I just searched the Model 24 and it's higher than even I thought.

Give the Charter Arms a shot before mortgaging the farm, they came through for me like champs in the '70's and there is reason to believe that they are back to the same workingman's friend.

You seem to be compairing cantaloupe to kiwi. The Smith is a large 'plus-sized', six shot service revolver and the Charter is (or will be) a Colt Police Positive-sized five shot suitable for concealed carry. Each is a good gun, but they serve two different purposes.

I eagerly await the arrival of the new Charter. I hope they see fit to make a 'classic' version in 45.
