Comp-tac C-Tac holsters...what's your opinion?

Don't have a c-tac, but I do have two of their shirt-tuckers, which is essentially the c-tac without the forward clip. I am very pleased with the product (that's why I have two...) and find the kydex to be about the right thickness. Not too thick, but very sturdy. I'm a happy repeat customer.

I've had a C-TAC for my P229 for a couple of years now. Since then, it's been the only holster I've used daily...and I mean every day, all day.

I first bought a Comp Tac Undercover (not exactly like those made now) for the 229, then a Shirt Tucker which I'll probably send back or sell- I don't like that model for myself; it tends to rock forward on me while carrying.

In February I'll see my Friendly Roaming Comp-Tac dealer at the Mesquite gunshow and I'll pick up another C-TAC for my new P220. I know several folks who prefer Comp-Tac to everything.

I ordered one last month, and have carryied it at work on and off. (CZ75C) It seems to be well constructed, and indeed very adjustable. It was a bit smaller than it appeared online (not a bad thing!) Kinda had a bit of bulk around the clip attaching point, like a fat rubber spacer. I assume its there so you can tuck your shirt in easier, but mine are going to come out!

Another thing I can see doing, is trimming the extra "tang" off the clips. If you arent using the lower holes, you have an extra 1/2"+ of plastic kinda stickin out in 2 spots. Just hope you don't want to adjust it again!

You really can tuck in, and have it right around your hip, with the thing conforming all round your body. Not totally comfortable like a nice flat leather rig, but worth the 70 bucks! With the 2 wide spaced clips, I was able to holdup the hefty cz even without a belt (albeit akward).


So if you got a few bucks, give it a shot... Might be your next carry setup!

I have a ctac for my ruger p89, and don't have any problems carrying it. The ruger p89 is not a small gun, either. I recently added a Fobus paddle holster for use at the range, but the ctac is worn every day. I like it a lot.

Their customer service is awesome as well-- I called because one of my clips broke (as if it had been stressed by opening too many times or opening too far to fit over my belt?), I was checking to see if it was covered under warranty (and I was going to buy another set). She strongly suggested that I let them just replace my clips under warranty, and buy the extra ones later if I still thought I needed them.

I love it, despite being a bit uncomfortable (as stock) for 1911 folks as the kydex is molded around the thumb safety and that eats at your side. Thankfully, it's easily moddable and thus modded, it's fabulous: comfy and doggone good retention and concealability. C clips are a worthy upgrade.

I've been using a C-TAC for my Glock 26 now for the better part of a year - I like it.

I actually make use of the "tuckable" feature, and have found the holster is more confortable than my Alessi Watch Six Dual Talon.

Recently I bought two Comp-Tac speed paddle holsters; one for H&K USP Tactical 45, and another for Kimber SST-II.

Excellent delivery, and as has been stated, great customer service.

Example: Call them with a question or issue, and they will gladly talk with you and actually make you feel that they are honestly interested in helping you; not that they just want to brush you off.

Have one of their paddles that's very well crafted plus the gun fits great.

Somewhere along the line though, they're going to have to begin making a proper belt-loop holster with a straight drop and a speed-cut.
Would own a lot more of them if they did!

I have the Comp-Tac Undercover Pro slide for my 1911s it's a quality holster and the price and their service is the best.
