Why come?

Been a while since I posted. I have been thinking about when I come to THR, and why. I could try to think up a good poll that catches most of us, but I guess a lot of people have different reasons for coming, for info, for conversation, to argue politics, whatever. A poll would miss a lot of people unless it had so many options it became silly.

I come here when I am tired and want to rest my mind, usually my last stop on line before bed. I relax, read a few posts about all kinds of strange topics, maybe learn something about a gun I am interested in or maybe about one I would never in a hundred years buy no matter how much money I had to play with. Basically just enjoy feeling among like-minded folks.

Just wondering if that catches most of you, or if you have some other reasons for coming to THR.
 
I come because no one in my personal life shares my interest in this hobby. I also come because I'm wise enough to know that I know squat, but am willing to listen to others and perhaps learn something.:)
 
I too visit for the company of shooters interests.
No one in person around has an interest in pistols and rifles.
I've taken several of my friends shooting and taken them to competitions,to no avail,none of them has picked up the interest.
I like the verying view points,good and bad of this chat room.
I find it very informative in many ways,good website links and first hand experiences.
I always find a thread on my next purchase and find insight in what to look for.
Currently looking at Savage #4 MK 1 Enfields 303Britt someting about the oldies.
Thats the main reasons I visit and troll.
 
I'm new here, but have been on GT and a mod on steyrclb.com for about a year.

For me coming home ,after midnight or later after 10-12 hour days at work, reading gun forums is a little more relaxing and informative than sitting in front of the boob tube for 2 hours while I wind down enough to go to sleep (I've learned a whole lot about different guns this way, and a lot of good shooting tips).

Otherwise I'd have to do something productive like clean guns, do dishes/laundry, or fill out this stupid application for the state idpa match that's been sitting on my desk for two days since I printed it:scrutiny:
