music and shooting?

I haven't, but once my friend turned on a football game and that was distracting and annoying when I was sighting in my slug gun. If I was to listen to music it would be classic rock or some older country music that is not turned up to loud.

Really hard to listen to music with plugs in my ears and muffs over that.

i think once i cranked up the stereo in order to hear it while shooting one day. i couldn't really hear it from outside through muffs (we live out in the country and it was mid day on a weekday, so i wasn't to worried about people complaining about the noise). i do tend to have itunes going when i'm cleaning guns, but then again i tend to have it playing when i'm doing anything that doesn't involve watching movies or.... well watching the t.v.
rock/alternitive/classic/glitter/punk/grunge, a little bluegrass, and some odds and ends.

Yup, I usually go for some Waylon or similar. When you listen to speed metal while shooting people assume you're an angry man.

Every time I shoot I have my mp3 player and headphones under my muffs.

Relaxes me.

I don't really have much on my Ipod that's conducive to good shooting. I'm far too receptive to music, so I'll start nodding my head, or tapping my foot...something silly and completely unintentional that wouldn't make for the most safe/accurate shooting conditions, lol.

I will say though - Some nice rockabilly would be good times plinking with a .22.

None. If there is an emergency down the firing line I prefer to hear it.

No. I like to be aware of my surroundings when plinking away.

Nothing better than a little country playing in the background while on the range. Listening to "A Country Boy Can Survive" shooting the S&W 629 brings a whole new meaning to the song.

A little techno might be good for getting in "the zone."

No, but I listen to music while cleaning guns, mostly Steely Dan, Warren Zevon and Flim and the BBs.

No way. When shooting I concentrate on what I'm doing.

not shooting but when I'm cleaning the guns yep.....very open minded about music so I know I'll be listening to something while cleaning

I like it to be silent so I can concentrate on what I am doing.

Sometimes I will when I can go down to the range by myself, otherwise I don't.

Many electronic earmuffs like Sordins (some Peltors maybe?) have line in plugs, you can plug a mp3 into that and pump music in through your headphones.

Sorry... I don't want ANY distractions when shooting... its kinda like talking on a cell phone while driving - one of my pet peeves.

No. After seven years of violin, music is a sort of distraction. A useful distraction for driving long distances and such... don't know if it would do a thing, good or bad, for accuracy (mine ranges from middling to lousy). May try it this Friday. My range trip would be for scientific purposes only, of course.

As a musician, I can't perform any other task while listening to music except driving. My mind wants to concentrate on the music, sing harmony with the radio, etc..... Have missed more than my share of exits that way.
