I was looking to buy won of these fancy powder dispensers has anyone here bought one? What is your experience?

The one that works for you... I use the RCBS made by Pact. Mine is about 18 years old and is doing just fine...Can't see a reason to get the auto dispensing one yet. Besides they are just a bit out of my financial reach at the moment...

I'll second RCBS ChargeMaster Combo . Works for me very well, cleans very well - and always faster than me. I love it.

One thing to watch for is that normally you overlap your press work with dispenser working while you do some press operation. RCBC finishes dispensing/measuring well before I stop pulling press handles. :) With dispenser on the same table the vibration from press cycle causes occasionally knocks several grains (I mean "grains" not as a measure of weight :) ) of powder to drop from dispenser tip into already measured charge in the cup, causing 0.1-0.3gr overweight (which is properly indicated on the display as such)

So I plan on installing it on a separate work surface preferrably with vibration dampening layer underneath ...

Good luck!

I have a Lyman. I love it (especially compared to the hand scale) . I hope it holds up for 18 years like Bushmaster's RCBS has. I guess we'll see.

Pros: Seems to work fine with any powder I need. Easy to operate.
Cons: Takes 30 minutes for calibration on startup.

Bought the Pact a few years back. Just bought the dispenser. Works like a dream, is easy to empty and, makes working up loads a lot faster.

Another vote for Denver.
I tried the RCBS dispensing measure-scale combo, did not have the patience to wait 30-40 seconds between loads.
The RCBS scale was fine, but I prefer the higher resolution of the Denver.

I have a pact and just hate it. I can load quicker with a darn manual balance scale. The problem is the digital scale will not settle down. It goes from to -.1 to + .1 etc. It just will not settle down. I called Pact(which are about as unfriendly as any vendor i have delt with) and they said it was bad power. I took it into work and pluggged it in as well as many other places and got the same problem. The reason this is all a problem if the scale is not reading zero it wont dispense so you wait and wait until it zeros for a second. I did send it back to pact (had to pay shipping there and back) and they said they could not find a problem. I plugged it in when I got it and it still did not work properly. These darn things are expensive...... I would not deal with pact again for sure. Customer service was horrible. These people dont realize that word of mouth is their best sales tool. its like they dont care. anyway enough of rambling.

RCBS ChargeMaster 1500 Combo - very good machine indeed. I have experienced the same issue as GlockTerrier, with vibration causing a bit of powder to fall into the tray. A separate surface would help out a lot. But I've produced a lot of very good ammunition with it, and am glad I have it.

Rumor control central input, please.

I read somewhere that the CED electronic was good but that some change was implemented that compromised the performance.

Both the older and current version were / are marketed by Dillon under the D-Terminator trade name. It's my understanding the earler model is no longer available.

So, any truth in the above set of rumors / speculation? Also, not a dispenser, sfaik.

While the RCBS unit garners the most attention, don't overlook the new Lyman 1200 DPS3. Previous models left something to be desired (speed and leakage, mostly), but the new model has addressed all these issues and is now on par with the RCBS unit. Give it a good look before you plunk down your hard earned.

i am loading 25gr varget 75gr .223 and I have never had a auto dispenser before but it gives me enough time to poor my powder seat the bullet check oal and reach for the next load.
