Need a Quality Laptop Bag that allows storage for a pistol

Just a thought ....

Laptops and firearms attract bad people who want to take them away from you. So does expensive looking gear. When the contents of a container are valuable, make the container plain and/or shabby rather than stylish.

I wouldn't wear a messenger bag on a motorcycle, personally. If you go pavement surfing, that thing is gonna wrap itself around your neck!

Backpacks are a little better. Saddlebags would be ideal, if your bike can accomodate them.

Whatever you decide, you can customize any pocket big enough for your gun with foam and/or sheet plastic.

I have this one.

It doesn't look like a computer bag and it's fairly compact. The padded laptop sleeve is right on your back and it'll still hold three or four text books in there too. There's a camera pocket that opens on the side toward your back just down from where the straps attach (hard to explain but in the other views it shows it) that's padded and just the right size for a gun if you choose.

2 In use

I have a Swissgear laptop backpack that I use daily and like a great deal - I have a big pile of laptop bags I tried before that, too. :D

The Swissgear bag has a couple of interior pockets that are ideal for a Glock sized handgun and I frequently carried that way.

The other bag I use nearly daily is a Camelback Demon concealed Carry pack. Not a designated laptop bag, but very roomy and easy to add a padded sleeve, should be enough room for even a full size laptop. This one has a built in holster and hard plastic reinforced carry compartment at the base of the bag. I carry mine daily as an emergency bag for hiking/snowshoeing.

Can't think of a particular bag, but check out some of the rubberized swiss army surplus items. They have good hardware and as cheap as they are your ought to be able to buy two or more to replace if/as they wear out.

Thanks for all the ideas, still looking for a great bag that protects the laptop and has enough storage when on the motorcycle.

I do have some bungees and have been known to bungee cord the current backpack to the motorcycle & I'm sure thats would work with messenger bags.

If you don't have to put on the "executive" image (ie. fancy leather case), get a backpack for the laptop. I got mine at Micro Center for about $20. It looks like a regular "student" backpack, but has a special padded compartment sized just perfect for a laptop. It sure beats carrying an increasingly heavy bag around by hand all the time and is less likely to get set down and left somewhere.

I used to work as an "emergency" computer tech for a large nationwide chain and traveled by air just about everywhere, at least two flights per week. That's a lot of walking around the airport. The backpack was a real lifesaver over the regular laptop bag. Keeping your hands free is a big bonus.

I can't say as far as a holster though. Personally, I'm not a fan of off-body carry. Too much chance of getting lost or stolen.

Chrome Bags Kremlin might be too big but take a look, you could always go down a couple sizes:

The bags are double layer, canvas on top of pvc tarping. Once you throw the flip over it's waterproof as a messenger bag gets. In addition to the main chest strap it has a secondary strap that goes under the opposite arm to stabilize the top of the bag and a waist strap to stabilize the bottom. Very secure and stabile whether riding or walking. Two internal divisions, plus a bunch of pockets under the flap. The zippered pocket swallows an XD9 4" no problem. It's just not a dedicated laptop bag so you've need to throw your laptop in a sleeve.

+1 on the Taurus bag. I had one for years and I carried everything from 380's to a 454 if I'm going to the range.

Wow, lots of great choices in this post; many I had never heard of. Just adding a suggestion as I am a motorcycle rider myself. If you want a bag that doubles as a tank bag, and has a helmet carrier Icon makes the Urban Tank Bag.

This way you could ride with it either on the tank or on yor back. It is water resistant, not waterproof though. Yet I'm sure with some sort of waterproofing spray and/or some creative shopping bagging it would do fine in the rain. I like the helmet carrier as it would leave my hands free when wearing it on my back or my shooting hand free when carrying it in my alernate hand. Oh yeah and also has a clear map pocket, like a standard tank bag that you may find useful.

Another vote for this briefcase/laptop case with hidden zippered compartment with a holster. I carry my laptop daily in it along with some papers. When I need a safe place to put my pistols it is very discrete and doesn't print at all. Made of very high quality leather too.

I have a Vostro 1500 and it is wide enough that it won't fit in a lot of the cases that I looked at. I wanted a bag big enough for it and related items. At Staples I bought a Heritage model 826563 leather case for about $100. It was a little more than I wanted to spend but it has a pocket large enough for a decent sized pistol. I usually carry my Kimber Ultra Aegis II.
