Stupid anti response!

We have a one page publication called Interfax Daily faxed to our office everyday. I enjoy reading it every morning. It is a local thing for Louisiana and it has jokes, quotes, and a readers opinion collum where every day they post a topic and the next day they write the readers responses. Yesterdays topic was concealed carry on campus. I wrote in for the first time and got printed but so did an anti with a pretty stupid response. They don't post it on the website but here is what was said.

My Response.
As a concealed handgun license holder for a few years now, I would support concealed carry on campus. I feel one of the reasons there have been attacks on schools is that the shooter knows there is no one there to stop them. police can not be everywhere at once. the shooters prey on the weak and what better place than somewhere people are not allowed to defende themselves.

Not only do I NOT support it, I would campaign against it. No one should have a weapon unless you are a government employee! Thes is a prime example of why we need the republicans out of office now! Crime will virtually stop when the Dems take over. All weapons should be confiscated and we'll all be better off! Our troops can come home and if we need order, they can patrol the streets here in America! Say YES to Obama!

So I guess if I vote Obama I will save a lot of money since I won't need a gun collection anymore. :neener:

It's definitely believable that it is a real anti. They can and do come that stupid and worse sometimes. Imagine that! Democrat in office and crime will stop! Because the eighty million soveriegn American Citizens who exercise their natural right to own and maintain their skill with personal arms are the sole cause of crime in the inner cities of America. There is nothing High Road to be said about that claim. Bet all you guys really only own guns to kill helpless furry bunnies and to force your heroin on poor defenseless gang members!

Sometimes I wish there was a more legal and humane cure for stupid. Darwin's is the only thing we've got right now, and it's really just too hit or miss.

One thing I have learned living here in The Peoples' Republik of Madison is that I don't paint all antis as gun-grabbing weirdos.

Yes, I do believe a certain perccentage of them want me to wear a helmet because my bike is "too much fun," but not all of them.

How do we debate a woman who just lost her son to combat or a senseless gas station robbery? How do you think she feels about "assault weapons" or cheap, stolen small caliber handguns? Do you think she cares about how many rounds are fired with a single sear release or the known differences a hobbyist discerns between a Jennings and a Korth?

Heck, sometimes I sharpen a tactical knife and wonder where it's going to ultimately end up. Hopefully not between a kid's ribs.

Yes, education is the key. But don't brand the people you debate as a senseless throng just trying to steal your guns. They have their opinion for a reason.

They publish local issues. They are out of Baton Rouge so sometimes it is LSU football (Geaux Tigers.) The other day it was about a fight at a little leauge ball park. They usually have a response from both sides of the issue.
