Good enough? :D

The DEA agent who shot himself speaks for himself and really doesn't represent the DEA as a whole. Nor, did he have anything to do with their ar-15 testing which occurred several years before this incident. I'm sure you cop bashers out there have a different take on the matter and that's ok.

IT WAS A JOKE. Chill out.

I'm a non-sworn employee for a local law enforcement agency (at least 'till I finish college), so I'm hardly a "cop-basher". So get off your high-horse... and again, chill out.

Chill out ???? You say that you're a non-sworn employee for a local law enforcement agency. I think thats great and I wish you well in your future as a law enforcement officer. My remark "cop-basher" was not directed at you personally but rather to those who might respond to my post.

LOL, Go ahead live life misinformed or passing on personal opinions with no facts. I know enough about the DEA ar15 test to tell you that they were not low bid. Also they had one heck of a torture test in which Rock River beat the rest. I wish people would not sling mud "low bid" bs when they have no idea of the true facts.

Well, someone else "in the know" said that RRA barely passed the DEA test, but it did pass, and RRA got the contract due to price and delivery time. Considering that he said it on the internet, and you made your statement on the internet, he's just as creadible as you are.

To be honest, I dont care about the DEA carbines and I'm sick of hearing about them. I waited six months on a stripped lower, another member here (or arfcom) waited 12 to 14 weeks on a no-fills M4gery.

Colt doesnt give a crap about civilian or LE sales, they've got their military contracts to pay the bills. It would seem RRA is filling the LE sales gap, but still doesnt care about those of us who arent on the job.

If you order a rifle from Bushmaster, they ship it to your FFL. During my six month wait on my RRA lower, the dealer that ordered it for me ordered four stripped lowers from BM, I picked one up three days later. Before all of this, I had him order the parts to build a 9mm AR. I waited about a month on the upper and buffer, and another month on the magwell.

Maybe if I worked for the DEA the delivery time wouldnt suck. But I dont, so the delivery time sucks and I'll send a check to someone else that ships in a reasonable amount of time.

It really doesn't matter if you believe me or the other guy. I don't work for Rock River and I have no axe to grind with Bushmaster. I have a close working relationship with many full time firearms instructors. My information is based on my internal contacts.

I do believe that if you worked for the DEA you would get first class treatment from RR. They have nothing but praise for RR.

Sorry to hear about the poor customer service you received.

Rock River fan here. I've built AR rifles. I've also bought them factory stock. I shoot with a bunch of AR fanatics. In general, they prefer the RR to the Bushy. Your results may vary.

delivery time

about the rock river delivery time.

I live in po-dunk Idaho where it is impossible to get anything that I want in stock for a reasonable price. I was able to aquire a new rock river lower and upper over the internet with a delivery time of less than a week. Don't buy directly from the factory. I have found dealers that sell for the same and even cheaper than the factory on line. ADCO has good deals on uppers but is back ordered on lowers. They do have complete firearms though in stock and ship in like 3 days. Buy the Rock River from someone that already has them in stock. There are TONS of people selling them now.

"Bushmaster with their chrome lined bores-for sure."

The DCM Bushmaster does NOT have a chrome bore. I am not aware of ANY NM AR that has a chrome bore.

Either. I went RRA because it was a midlength and had the 2-stage trigger whereas the Bushy sitting next to it had a stock trigger. But I wouldn't hesitate on either. Or Stag
or DPMS
Or LMT
Or S&W

Chevy vs Ford vs Dodge

I have a Bushmaster Varminter (heavy SS 24")and my son has the Rock River Arms with a very heavy SS 24" barrel.

If I were a Prairie Dog at 450 yards in front of EITHER of these two very fine AR's, I'd be shi__in' my pants and heading for my hole!!! Both can hit 4" steel gongs at 400m consistently (8 or 10 out of 10 depending on wind conditions).

Please don't say that the "Bushys are jamb-o-matics". I have NEVER had a jamb of any kind nor has anyone at my Rifle Club who owns a Bushmaster.

ATLANTICFIRE : Where do you come up with this crap?!?

I have a friend who spoke first hand to the gentleman involved with testing ARs for BATFE. He said there was no difference. I asked to make a recommendation based on their testing. Guy told us both Rifles performed exactly the same. BATFE went with RRA because of price and no other reason. I realize no one here knows me personally. The fact is I don’t own an AR yet and have done countless hours of research, reading, and discussion with many folks from all across the gun community, I have come to the conclusion that you get what you pay for in any brand. They all have their inexpensive entry level weapons and they all have their top of the line performance weapon. My only decision now is do I want to wait and spend more or get an entry level weapon and upgrade later.

BTW could someone give me a second job so I can buy more guns?

There may be some Colt's sitting somewhere but the only place that I know of that can come up with Colt parts is out in Arizona. Alot of Colt parts are not available to sell to the public right now.
