Beretta 92 FS Question

Absolutely normal. You'll notice the same thing in virtually every other (center fire) autopistol, too.

Here's an even better one; when someone that was unfamiliar with handguns would be handling a Glock in the store, invariably, with the slide locked back, they'd say that the barrel was bent.

Nope, it's just tilted, like 95% of all semi-automatic handguns out there it uses a tilting barrel action; it's just a lot more pronounced on the Glock.

Now if your Beretta had the reverse, lose barrel when slide closed and ultra tight when slide opened, then I think you'd have a definite problem.

Berettas are great guns. Wish they came in stainless, but I've seen them only in the compact models. I particularly like the nickel plated dress pistols.

Berettas are so flawless because they have an open ejection system and virtually no ramp for the bullet to climb. It comes directly off the top. I liked the Italian ones the best, but the design is far better than the 1911.

They do it is called the 92FS INOX/. I have had mine about six years.

OP: Good choice for a firearm. Keep buying the WWB ammo. My 92F loves it. Im around 2200 rds in 2 years that ive owned it and havent had a single hiccup. Im a former Glock owner(23C and 19) and although they are awesome functioning firearms, the ergonomics didnt fit my hand. I held a Beretta and havent looked back. I recommend them to anyone looking for a new sidearm.

Alot of people dog on the Beretta, but i attribute some of that to them being 1911 fans and are upset that the pistol was replaced. Most of the bad stuff you hear about Beretta is from people who havent even handled them, just relaying what they heard from a buddy.

Although this site will probably answer most questions about a Beretta, it doesnt hurt to check out other places. Berettaforum.net is a good forum. Its setup similar to this forum. Good group of people on there too. They arent opinionated and dont think Beretta's are Gods gift to the firearm community. Most of the people there, like myself, have a well diversified gun safe.

If you like nickel plated pistols check out the Billenium. Only 1000 made, so its more of a safe queen. They price around $1200

IdahoLT1, you find one in new or near new condition for $1200, you let me know please. I've seen them between $1800 and $2000 for over a year....very sought after gun.

IdahoLT1: No, thanks. I'd want one just like that dress pistol on A Few Good Men. I don't like all the markings and indents. Smooth and all silver fer me. No contrasty black parts, either.

actually on a beretta 92, it should only wobble a little forward and back, not up and down. if your barrel actually tilts like a glock or xd i'd say you have a problem. the beretta's barrel stays straight when the slide locks back.

I believe the model 70 was a .32cal and the 70S was a .380. They are a fairly rare firearm

Ive only seen one for sale, ever. It was about 3 years ago and sold close to $1200

I just got back from the range with my new Beretta 92 FS. I put a 150 rounds of Winchester 115 grain FMJ's through it and it performed great!
