I am looking for a small metal-framed auto for use as a concealed carry weapon, preferably in 9mm or 45acp. What do you suggest for $600 or less besides S&W or Ruger?

kahr

MK9 or k9

MK40 or k40

hard to beat, the MK's the most c oncealable. My k9 goes bang every time, super handgun..

here's the dimensions for the Commander size
1911 - S&W would be above $600 perhaps
something from STI

1911 S&W Commander - Scandium Frame
Barrel Len.: 4.25 inches
O.A.L. ---- 8. inches
O.A. Height: 5.5 inches
O.A. WIdth: 1.37 inches
Sight Radius: ?
Weight Empty: 28 oz
Cartridge: .45 ACP ( 9x19 & .38 Super )
Mag. Cap. 7/ 8 rds ( 9 rds )

Next the CZ PCR is the same size as a P01
but no light rail.

CCZ PCR(D) Compact 9MM x 19
Barrel Len.: 3.9 inches
O.A.L. ---- 7.2 inches
O.A. Height: 5.3 inches
O.A. WIdth: 1.4 inches
Sight Radius: ?
Weight Empty: 27.2 oz
Mag. Cap. 14 rds

But here's the one I'd recommend
it's a single stack

Sig P239 - 9MM x 19
8 rd Mag, Optional 10 Rd mag with extension pad
Barrel Len.: 3.6 inches
O.A.L. ---- 6.6 inches
O.A. Height: 5.1 inches
O.A. WIdth: 1.2 inches
Sight Radius: 5.2 inches

If you find one as a package with Sig Holsters
- the holsters are crap - get a different holster.

I have the Kahr MK9 Elite 98 and recommend it highly. The SIG P239 is a tad larger - good IWB, but I can't make mine work as a pocket pistol even in a jacket.

I mostly carry a Colt Cobra, though.

From your advice, I went to some local gun stores. I liked the Sig P6, but this one was green framed. I held the CZ Rami, and it was pretty good , too. however, I think I made up my mind as soon as I held the Kahr K9. It was stainless and felt just right, not too heavy, and soooo thin! I do want to see an armalite before I plunk down the bucks on the Kahr, but I think I have found my conceal carry pistol! What do you all know about the kahr K9?
