I am looking to get a 9mm DA pistol.

I do not want a striker fired pistol.

I will consider both metal and polymer frames.

I do want something that is as corossion resistant as possible.

I would also prefer a Decocker only, but will consider a pistol with a manual safety/decocker.

I would prefer a mid-sized pistol, but will consider full sized guns that can be used for concealed carry if needed. Concealed carry will not be the main purpose of the pistol.

The price should be no more than $525.00; preferably less than $500.00.

I want a new pistol. No police trade-ins or other used guns.

Thanks for any replies!

the stoger couger. the berretta 92? the 92's can be had for less than 500 new. i would start there, i would recomend sig but they are a little bit out of the price range you are looking at.

also a ruger kp95 for the polymer framed variety i had one and it was a nice shooter and reliable.

Ruger KP95

Also consider the Smith 5906. You won't find a new one , but there are many out there that are used, like new.

CPO SIG P220, P226, P228, or P229.

You could also get a 1911 chambered in 9mm. Kimber and Springfield Armory make them, as does Wilson Combat and STI.

Or just get a Glock/Walther/XD/S&W M&P/HK and be done with it.

Pawdaddy,

Have a look at the Bersa Thunder 9 and the UC9. Great pistols at very reasonable prices. Magazines are expensive though.

Beretta 92D which is DAO, Beretta 92FS which is DA/SA, the CZ75/85 series, Bersa Thunder9 (which is a copy of the Walther P88), the Ruger P series, Taurus PT92, TZ75, MR Baby Eagle, Stoeger Cougar, Armalite AR24; there's actually quite a selection available for you, close to your price point.

CZ75. :) Full-sized steel frame and alloy frame compacts (I have one of the latter, a PCR Compact) have standard or optional decockers depending on the model. The placement and operation of CZ decockers is very slick.

Also consider the SIG pistols based on the "classic" design (not DAK triggers or 1911s).

I think I have owned about every DA/SA available over the past thirty years. Many were excellent, but nothing beats the CZ75 on value.

CZ-PCR, a great 9mm carry weapon:D It's a little better than the PO1 as far as concealability, but both the PO1 and PCR are very nice.

For that price, you can't beat a CZ75, but it might be a little bigger than you are looking for.
Check out a CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) Sig P228 or P229. They can be had in the $475-$525 range.
