Heads up on Lee Pro Auto Disk

I've loaded a lot of clays loads. A firm (hey man! that's my wife!) double tap on the housing will settle the powder and give you a better meter.

I had intermittent squib issues on a Loadmaster using the Lee adjustable charge bar, the Lee Pro Auto-Disk Powder Measure and WSF powder in 9mmx19. Occurance was (say) 1-2% level in loaded ammunition. When I switched back to using the fixed cavity discs (only) my problem was resolved.

Me too. Using W231 powder and that Lee variable charge bar, when loading less than about 3.5 grains of powder I started having trouble with drastic underloads, even when tapping the side of the thing with the handle down each time.

Switched back to the discs, no problem. I think that variable charge bar doesn't work well for light loads (say less than 4 grains of W231) when it's closed up to just a little open crack. If you open it up to a bigger aperture it works ok.

I just use the discs now, not one single problem load in the last several thousand rounds I've reloaded since I went back to the discs. The discs work great even for light loads like my 380ACP ones with about 3 grains of W231.
