I just started making these and wanted to know what you people think? I make motorcycle seats and custom paint for a living but wanted to do somethings with firearms. My long lost but found hobby again. These are some of the things I have come up with. I want to make things that you can not buy anywhere else. I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I want to make cool personalized stuff.

Flamed grip wrap for my 5906

Skull grip for my Walther p22. I didn't like the grip it was to narrow for my hands.

Velcro holster. I made this because it is easy to open carry if you have to take it off and on. It has a belt loop also. If you think it has to be more secure.

What do you think? Any ideas about other things that might be cool?

also what about mag holders and revolver cylinder holders for carrying extra cylinders. wow those are going to look sooo cool
 
The grip on the 5906 looks great, but it also looks huge. I don't have gorilla hands, and it looks like I'd need a pair for that beast. Other than that, it looks like really nice stuff. Do you have prices available? How bout a website for your motorcycle stuff?

LOL That is why I like what I do. The possibilites are endless. I never thought about a cylinder holder. Mag holder would be cool. What you see here is all that I have done sofar. I just started doing gun related stuff a couple of weeks ago. I keep trying to come up with new ideas.

I had a guy ask me yesterday to make him a pocket holster with skulls on the wallet side. I told him I can do skulls on both sides. He is stoked.

In the gun market the only tooled stuff I have seen is cowboy holsters. Nothing else. So this is something new. I can do pretty much anything anyone comes up with. so there is no limit. I just bought a Remington 742 that I want to wrap the stock with leather tooled skulls on it. :D
 
VERY nice work. Usually not my "kind of thing" (I'm more a fan of "plain" looking guns for the most part), but I have to say that really does look very good. You definitely have some serious skill/talent. I suspect you'll start getting flooded with PM's from people wanting you to do some similar things for them. You may have NO idea what you just got yourself into with the 77,000 gun lovin' members of this forum. :D

yeah it is alittle big. The leather adds 1/4 inch. I did this on my 5906 with Pachmayr grips. I should have done it on my other one. That is next it is another 5906 with stock grips with hogue finger grooves. I am going to make the leather wrap with the finger grooves.

I don't really have any set prices other than the cases. They start at 150. It all depends on what I do.

Is this supposed to be a joke? I'm not criticising the quality of your work; you're obviously skilled in tooling leather. But skulls? And on the grip adapter too? To each his own as far as what is aesthetically pleasing, but carrying one's firearm in a holster adorned with skulls, or worse, having a grip adapter adorned with such on one's pistol might be interpreted by a jury as indicative of a preoccupation with death and killing. The concerns expressed by some of using reloaded ammunition in a defensive shooting pales in comparison with the probable character assassination you'd do to yourself in court if the handgun or the holster you'd used was adorned with skulls or other "bad-ass" art. I'm not insulting your talent; your artwork is very good. But I do question the wisdom of what you're proposing.

Thanks for the compliment johncantiusgarand, I know where you are coming from and in todays world almost anything can be used against you. Alot of people look down on people with guns. But we still have them. I think the same thing would happen if I put this on a holster.

Defence attorney would say "maybe the defendant wanted to send him to god........

i admire your skill. flames and skulls arn't really my thing, but i like the design alot. have you considered using multiple mediums for your grips? say, 1911 grips, wood border with an ostrich leather center with nickle rivets/screw holes. might be more trouble than its worth, but wow would it look great.

I can do that. lol The only problem is that you would have to wear the same clothes everyday....:eek:

Thanks jakk280rem. To be honest with you. I just did the flamed grips last night. I did the Walther ones Saturday. That is how new the Idea is. I don't have any 1911's....yet But yes that would look cool. Wood border with a tooled center?... Would I have to make my own wood blanks. Or is there anything out there that I can work with? Maybe a company that makes different types of grips. I don't know anything about 1911's other than they are very popular.

yeah that would be fun. 1911 as a prototype:D I would have to buy another safe for the write offs I mean prototypes:D

The ones you've done so far aren't to my taste but it looks like the quality of both the workmanship and the artistic design is excellent.

Thanks Blofeld, I have a webite. It is www.purekustomleather.com I don't have any gun stuff on there yet. Everything you see hear is all that I have done sofar.

As far as prices. It all really depends on what a person wants.

Grips start at 60.00
Holsters start at 90.00
Cases start at 150.00

Prices are based at 30 an hour. I am not trying to get rich. I really enjoy what I do. If you have any questions on an idea you have. Please don't hesitate to ask.

I also want to thank the members here. I am stoked at the responce you people have showed me.
