Hey all, I am inheriting my old man's 11-87 and am going to sell my 870 to put a down on my Obama-AR, what would you pay for it?

Its an 870 Express Magnum, synthetic, stock 28" barrel (this barrel has never been used), aftermarket Remington police barrel 18" (less than 400 rounds down the hole), and all the boxes and stuff that comes in it.

I bought it about 6 months ago and it cost me about $420 at Cabela's (including the barrel)

I know this post may be blasphemous to some of you, and it is to me too, but I think pump guns will be legal post-election regardless, so I am going to scoop up an AR before I might not be able to, etc.

I listed it on a local firearm site for $350 and got an offer for 300.

Normally it would be worth at least what you are asking for it considering it has 2 barrels, but it is a buyer's market right now, and 870s are common enough that it is probably being affected by the current recession. I would wait a while if you can, you should get a much better deal that way.

I might know someone that will buy that short barrel if you're willing to split it. I think his top end is around $75 though (he's on a budget).

$275- 300 is fair with the spare barrel ...... Used decent express around here with the 26/28" field barrel are in the $150-175 range

Agree. $300 to $350 sounds reasonable for an 870 with two barrels. I just paid $280 for one with one barrel.

Don't mean to resurrect this thread, but I am flabbergasted!

I am not getting any offers to even 300. I have received several $250 offers but I would rather not sell it for that much.

Should I just let it go for 250?

For that much I would just keep it! You certainly aren't going to replace it in the future for $250. GIve it some time and you might fall in love with it again down the road.

I would sell the shotgun with one barrel for $250. Then sell the extra barrel for $100-$130. I would try to sell the shotgun locally. I would sell the barrel online..

Edit:: Just read that the 28" barrel is new, I think that would sell better buy it self then the used 18" barrel. I think you can get atleast $150 for the 28" barrel by itself. Sell the shotgun with the 18" barrel for $250. If you decide to sell the shotgun online, ask $250 plus shipping or figure out how much it will cost to ship and tack it on to the $250. If it were me, I would list it for $280 shipped.
