People come here for help. I know I did at one time. Let's face it folks, with the latest surge in firearms purchases, there are more people than ever looking for information. Or would you rather shun their questions and then open up a new thread about "Saw a newbie at the range who did not know squat". Give it a rest. I know I get sick of seeing the same old thing. That's why I switch forums from time to time.

I fail to see the issue here. I will provide the final answer once and for all.

Relax. Just blowing off some steam. Newbies are great and will continue to ask questions. Heck, I am about to ask a newbie type question over in Rifle Country if I cannot find enough in the Forum Search and on the internet.

I doubt anyone here would really ridicule a newbie and someone does, I am sure plenty will chastise said member.

I voted for "9mm vs. .40 vs. .45", though I keep reading them. I guess I keep expecting the latest one to have the answer, but then, I still believe in the Easter Bunny too.

I have to go with any "caliber war" thread. Most specifically 9mm vs .45acp. I've been seeing the same tired argument since the early 80s. But now instead of once a month in a gun rag, it's a few times a week in one or more internet forum.

I'd like to add one that isn't listed.

Posting of news stories involving someone being horrifically victimized, and then stating "if only they would have had a gun, this wouldn't have happened!"

It's pointless armchair quarterbacking, and besides, everyone here already knows that having a sidearm is the best defense against being victimized. There's no need to endlessly rehash such events as there's nothing new to be learned from them.

And if there is something to be learned from them (which is exceedingly rare), the post really belongs in Strategies and Tactics, not General Gun Discussion.

You left off "recommend for me a super rifle that will allow me to fight off hordes of invaders, hunt, fish, target shoot, costs less than $100 and ammo is cheap and plentiful.
