i'm with dirty bob on this one... shooting a bear with a handgun on purpose (sp) is just stupid.............................................................

LIFE IS SHORT.....

My favorite thread occurs at the sites that have an,"Ask a Leo" Forum.
That thread always reads, "How should I tell a LEO that I have a concealed weapon on me".
Then right below that is a thread that reads,"How should I tell a LEO that I have a concealed weapon on me".;)

I am the most tired of hearing numerous people a week complain about how all that the gun show had was jerky. Fine, but you don't have to tell us every time.

You forgot to mention all the recurring posts complaining about being sick of certain thread topics.:)

But you can always just avoid those by not reading or responding to them.

I enjoy reading new THR member's questions and comments about "which gun for this?", "good first gun?", "why do people like Glocks so much?", "why use a shotgun for hume defense when a pistol is much more handy?", etc. as much as I like watching "Caddyshack", a full moon or a pretty girl walking down the street. (Again).

When I start getting sick of things I used to like, it's time to drop me off deep in the woods with just one bullet.

Of course, I have no idea why anyone would watch baseball on TV before September, so YMMV. :D

i had to go with 9vs40vs45. it's just so cliche it's ridiculous. but i also think which "gun for my wife" and "1911vsGLOCK!" are good choices.

i have to admit that i actually really like the SHTF threads. it's like a car wreck that i can't turn away from...

"3. _____vs_____"

This one I don't get? As someone who looks at forums such as this for information why is comparison of two products, calibers, etc.... a bad thing?

Sure... If you DO NOT use the search function first it is a bad thing but is this forum really discouraging people like me from asking which is better, a Marlin 60 or Ruger 10/22?

Granted, I did a search first, found the answer and did not have to ask that question but if the search came up empty, I would think this is exactly what this forum should be used for.

Just my opinion.

What about the groans about the moderator nazis on here? I mean the all knowing moderat...I mean the moderator....well you know what I mean..:neener:

I picked "Which gun for my wife/girlfriend?"

This issue has been debated to death. Unless she's a really big woman, a .223 should take care of her just fine. :D

I voted for barrel break-in, but I just changed my mind. Anything involving thehighroad.us or anything asking the price of AR's and AK's. People who don't even like AR's and the like want them because they might be banned and they ask the same question over and over and over.

I guess this probably doesn't count, but all of the abbreviations for a concealed handgun license that go unexplained. When someone will use the abbreviation in a sentence without explaining what it is, assuming that everyone knows, even thought there are about a dozen different names for it. Like "Do I have to give the officer my HCP?" Without explaining that the poster means "handgun carry permit". There are so many of these, and it's just a mess. CPL, CHL, LCP, HCP, CWP, etc. Can't we all just say "CWP" as a general term, or at least explain what our abbreviations mean?

"Which one of these two (or three) popular & proven pistols that are really nothing alike except for caliber should I buy???"

Such as, "Should I buy a Glock 19, a Sig P229, or a Browning HiPower?"

Extra points for throwing the HiPoint into the mix. :neener:

But then, the following posts will usually laud the praises of something that's not even on the list, like a CZ or an H&K.

Then the OP announces that they've never even shot any of the above pistols, and they went ahead and bought a Ruger because it was cheap. Whyyyyyyyyy bother asking? :banghead:

Ok... noob's like me get the point... do not come here for help until you are an expert.

For the record... I went with the hi point and it shoots terrific.

Out...

Mr. White, should I ever get back up to PA I'll buy you a coffee for that one. That's the best one liner I've seen in years.

had to go with the 9 vs 40 vs 45...

Close second to me would have been the 45-70 vs 444 vs 450 marlin.

Can't we just stop the madness? :D

You left off "recommend for me a super rifle that will allow me to fight off hordes of invaders, hunt, fish, target shoot, costs less than $100 and ammo is cheap and plentiful.

I really don't like which gun for my wife/girlfriend. How should I know, if you don't know then you shouldn't be around guns. lol

I checked "Handgun for bear defense"....with those claws, teeth, superior strength and sprint speed, bears don't need handguns for defense.

What gun for zombies? That's both a groaner and yet fun in too-late-at-night-to-be-web-surfing way.
