Got the whole family in on the process (family pet after all) and these were the finalist.....

Trigger, Skipper, Rascal and Reckless........

Went with Skipper (nautical theme from my navy days :) )

His eyes look sad because he's not old enough to go pheasant hunting with papa yet ;)

I talked to a LEO with a bomb sniffing dog last year. It was a sweet lab. I asked what his name was and the LEO said "Wesson." I thought that an odd dog name until he told me his name was "Smith" so the team was "Smith and Wesson."
Very cool.

I just captured and domesticated a calico kitten that had been living under the house and named it camy, cause she looks like she has camo on. :D

I named my Treeing Feist puppy "Gonzo" in honor of Ted Nugent... and his dog Gonzo.
I really like Mauser, though. Now I need a new dog.

I kinda like " Obama"
no, that name should refer to only one part of a dog, the part you hate to clean up after.
seriously, you picked a good name for your pup. i was going to suggest "JAG" which is only one sylibal, but who's counting.

xjedix - what breed of dog are those? I found a stray that looked just like that one time. I'm mad at myself for not keeping him.

SSN Vet- Keep us updated with pics. That is a beautiful puppy, and I'd like to see what it turns out like (hunting included).

xjedix My dogs, Colt and Kimber.

I'd also like to know what kind of dogs those are. (My guess is Brittanys. I've wanted one for along time.) They are gorgeous dogs, and usually good hunters.

Yes sir, both of them are Brittany Spaniels. Great bird dogs and even better family dogs. :)

We just got a new pup. Wife said to name it something gun related, so I did:

"Skeeter D" (Dawg) (Skelton).

If you have to ask, you're too young to know.
