Does anyone know if UPS or most ammo sellers will send ammo to UPS boxes at UPS stores. I'm fixing to order another stock up of ammo. Mostly 7.62x54r and 8mm Mauser this time around. My roomate's boss moved in with us, my roomate's kid is visiting during the week (he's been known to 'hide' mags I've bought through the mail), and my roomate's social habits with his girlfriend having a key to the house (yeah I ripped him a new one over that, we had an agreemnt to talk and agree before we handed out keys, my own fiancee doesn't have a key to the house, only my room, but can't get into my two safes where I keep my guns when I'm not home).

Are there any P.O. Boxes that are okay with receiving ammo, or UPS stores okay with receiving ammo. I can't always be home to sign for the ammo (lawschool five days a week, mow 27 yards a week, and bar back two days a week).

Check the vendor's policy. They want a street address for certain items, and I think ammo would be one of those.

UPS Stores are street addresses, not PO boxes. Since UPS Stores are owned by UPS, they should accept them readily. But you should call your local UPS Store franchiser to double-check.

This might be one of the cases where it's "easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission".

The UPS store has no need to know what is in your package other than what is on the outside labels. UNLESS you specifically tell them about it, they will likely never even look at it.

UPS has no problem shipping it, I don't see why they should have a problem receiving anything that their parent company is willing to ship.

If you don't give them the chance to say NO, (the usual knee "jerk" reaction to anything gun related) they can't.

The majority of the ups stores won't ship ammo but as stated above if their parent company has no problem shipping it then they may not have a problem recieving it. Last time I shipped ammo I had to take to an actual Ups hub.

That is correct. To SHIP an ORM-D item, you MUST take it to the UPS itself, not one of the PO box stores. You don't have to RECEIVE an ORM-D at a hub, as evidenced by the fact they deliver ammo to my house all the time.

United Parcel Smashers is the only option that non-commercial entities have to ship small arms cartridges.

The rules are simple and straight forward:

-The box of ammo cannot exceed 60 pounds in weight

-The box must bear at least one "ORM-D" label that is both clearly visible and secured permanently on the box's
exterior

-The box must be sufficiently strong to contain the ammunition within (reinforced shipping tape is your best bet)

-The box must be dropped off at a customer service center at the terminal hub, no exceptions

-It always advisable to have the UPS hazardous shipping hotline "1-800" number with you (it is on the UPS website) when you go to drop it off since there may be an employee with less than adequate knowledge about shipping such consumer commodities.

Good luck.
