The results looked like a poll of who owned or wanted which gun.

Shot a 9mm STI high-cap with all bells and whistles used for steel shooting---Near perfect trigger (guess that's 1911 style)

SIG 210 has the best out of the box 9mm trigger.

Well almost any Sig with the SRT. That having been said, I did get a Sig with a crunchy trigger pull. Don't know how I missed it at the shop. Sent it back to Sig and they fixed it (and charged me for a tigger job) It's great now.

I think the trigger of the 9mm's I've actually shot is in the Glock 34. Really nice trigger. Light and crisp. The 34's come with the lighter

Worst was S&W Sigma's. Shot one years ago when they first came out and they were really heavy and felt like the plastic trigger was actually flexing. Shot a newish Sigma at the range last weekend and left with the same impression.

I voted 1911 because the other posters are correct, a 1911 trigger is about as good as it gets.

For DA/SA however I'd like to see one with a better trigger than my CZ-85 Combat.

For best trigger, no contest a 1911. For a DAO, the Para LDA (Light Double Action) trigger is amazing.

Other - 1911 9mm. I have a Springfield Loaded Ultra Compact Lightweight and it has a fantastic trigger.

My Steyr M40 (same as M9) has the best trigger I have ever experienced on a handgun. The trigger reset is only 4mm.

Other: 1911 derivative.

STI Steelmaster / Matchmaster - 'cause it doesn't even come in .45ACP. It's 9mm and 38 Super only.

"Best" is subjective... One guy may really like the Glock trigger and another may prefer the DA/SA of a well-broken in CZ-75.

I like the consistency and short, crisp reset of my G19, but the best DA/SA was my Walther P99.

In my experience the CZ's start off gritty but wear in very nicely. Sigs DA/SA tend to be nicer than 3rd Gen S&W's, although I had a SP2022 that was pretty lousy (gritty and stacking). This seems to be the exception rather than the rule as most guys end up with a very smooth Sig Pro.

I can only speak from experience on this one so I'll limit my decision based on what I've owned or fired. That leaves me several dozen to choose from and it's a hard decision. A lot of it depends on the type of trigger the gun has for example is it a SA, DA/SA or DAO?

As far as SA I would agree it's hard to go wrong with a 1911 trigger in any caliber. As for DAO I would have to say the XD9 comes in first, although I've heard (but can't speak from experience) that the Steyr M9 has one of the best DAO triggers out there.

As far as traditional DA/SA 9mm autos go I would have to say that the Walther P88 is the best I've ever experienced in this category. Which is one of the reasons why I own two of them:D
