out of curiosity, why in the world would you want to do that?

When you find out how to wrap around a cylinder please post a link to it. I have some stuff that I need to wrap. Similar to the way a member here does his survival wrist straps on the F/S board.

How hard can it be that you need YouTube?

Tuck one end under and wrap over it until you get to the other end, then tuck that end under a couple of wraps and cut it off.

If you want it to stay on & tight, put a couple of drops of Crazy Glue on the last wrap or two on each end after you are done.

Saw the KOPPO...I learned that from a Boy Scout manual over 30yrs. ago
an still use it..they call it a "whipped" tie, or just plain whip.

This for an AR pistol buffer. I posted in the rifle forum due to the platform being more commonly known as a rifle.

I've seen some neat wrap jobs done, but the "how to" is what is giving me problems.

How to keep it tight, how to make it look good, etc. I am sitting here with the tube and a length of cord experimenting but, I cant seem to get it just right.

SimpleIsGood: I'm gonna give the first link a try. THANKS

ON Edit: Looked at the link above, and it is the same as I described, except that I pull until both ends wind up inside the wrap ....and the link has pictures!

Here's how I wrap anything in cord, from fishing pole guides to spear handles:

Make a u shaped loop in the cord slightly longer than the area to be wrapped.

Lay the loop over the area to be wrapped, open end to the right (right handed person), with the closed end an inch or so past where the wrap will end.

Start wrapping from the open end, wrapping over the short end of the loop. Pull each wrap tight.

When you reach the end of the wrap, pass the free end of the cord through the loop, and hold tight with the left hand.

With the right hand, pull on the free end of the loop. This will cause the loop at the end of the wrap to close up, and then start pulling the other end of the cord inside the wrap.

When the loop is pulled inside the wrap about 1/4 of the way, trim the end of the cord, then pull until the cut end is inside the wrap. Then trim the loose end you were pulling on, and tuck the end up inside the wrap.

Done right, the two ends of the wrap cord end up under the wrap, interlocked together in the middle.

If the wrap was done tightly, it will pull rather hard, but it won't work loose.

The M4Socom stock is cold. If you did not needt to be able to adjust it after you set it where you like, this wrap would help it that out.

Two pieces of mono fishing line, doubled back, place looped ends opposite each other, wrap cord around tube and mono line, place loose ends of cord into looped ends of mono and pull mono ...which will pull cord tite under self
