Here is what I ran into today when I went to the local gunshow I have been going to for years. I was just going to pick up some primers. The line at the reloading booth was insane, I didn't wait. I left with two ammo cans. I knew I shouldn't have even tried to go. I told myself a while back I wouldn't go for a long time. :banghead:

This was just the line to get in. It wrapped around the building.

The last time I went was to a show in Charlotte NC, when I got there the line (three of them was several 100 yards long.

When we left I decided to drive by the lines to check how long they were .9 of a mile, amazing!!!

Looks like Pasadena...
I almost stopped on my way home from Port Arthur...
Glad, now, that I didn't

I am not old enough to have gone to gun shows in the good ole days but even so I have not gone to one in ages and I never had to deal with crowds of any sort ever. I probably would if I went nowadays.

it IS a double edged sword though. as long as people show interest, the shows will keep coming through. it only takes a few bad turnouts and they may one day stop. take the good with the bad

Here in the West Palm Beach area lines like this have been common first thing each morning for the past several years. This past December and Jan. had the largest attendance but has gone done for the past two months. I think the people who wanted a gun or could afford one has bought one, now people are just not buying any gun and waiting for that special toy to become available. I am one of those people waiting for the special toy, Springfield 9MM EMP or a Rohrbaugh 9MM

Long lines @ the gunshow

There's a gun show going on this weekend here in Colo., & I didn't give going a second thought just because of what is going on in the world regarding hoarding, crazed wanna be gun owners, etc. Once inside, you have to shuffle with the "crowd" & don't forget the guy behind you who bitches because you just bought the last box, or case of "whatever".... :cuss:

Same reason I stopped going to Disney Land.... who wants to stand in a 2hr. long line for 18 seconds of fun? :barf:

I also went to a gun show today. The first I attended in about 1.5 yrs. The last couple seemed rather sparsely attended but today was jammed; parking lot almost full 1/2 hr after opening. All I wanted was some .451 RN and .223 bullets. Funny thing I also walked out with two ammo cans.

I have still never been to a gun show. I wish I had been at some time in the past, but am glad I don't feel the need to go these days. I think this is a sign. Of what, one can only speculate, but I think people have just had it, and are finally beginning to wake up from their comfort bubble and feel they need to be ready. I wonder just what it will take?

There was a show today here in Nashville. I wanted to go. Its no fun if there is no money to spend. Things should have changed...both of the kids are grown and in their own homes. I thought there might be just a bit more cash. :scrutiny:

Maybe I better keep an eye on wifey...she might be saving more than I know! :D

She knows I need ammo, powder, primers....

first time I went, there was no line and no deals to be had. I bet it's even worse now. I don't see much a point in going. I have been twice, and both times I was only looking at milsurps and beef jerky. Not much else there.

PDX Show

Went to the gunshow here in Portland Saturday looking to trade.
A couple of dealers were well stocked in AR type guns , Stag , Bushmaster , DPMS ,etc. Even saw an Olympic NIB for 1k

Would you believe there was some one selling"ShamWow"

Or Olongapo.

It was way more fun and lasted longer than 18 seconds. :D:D:D
I knew a few guys that probably still have lingering reminders of their fun in the PI.

Went to the show in Yakima, WA yesterday.
Line wasn't long.
Could not move once you got in.
It was a packed house.
Everything was way way over priced as usual.
10/22 for $300
Henry .22 for $500 but it did have a scope.
That will be the last gun show I go to until the panic calm down.
So maybe that will be the last show I go to after all.

You should have stopped, it was not that bad. I got there early afternoon and was able to get through it in less than an hour. The parking lot was overflowing on to the grass, but the inside was fairly easy to navigate.

I can only dream of having that large of a gunshow to attend...

That is usually the smallest in the area! This was in a suburb, and is probably the smallest out of the 5 that are in the Houston area. (HGCA at Reliant biggest, High Caliber and Saxet at GRB 2 and 3, Conroe 4th largest)

Prices were typical of those during this panic, and high. Some stuff could be had reasonably if you looked. New AR govt contract mags were $14, and some parts reasonable. A lot were not Mosins were $160+, Colt AR carbines $1850+, P90s were still hovering around $1500, No problem buying anything on the proposed ban list if you had the money. Brisk business in handguns also.

Next weekend a "large" (by local standards) gun show is coming to my area. It's an annual event, and even though the past couple years have been a little disappointing I always look forward to it. This year I'm actually dreading it a little. I mean, I can't not go; not when I'm the biggest gun nut in my circle of associates. Not when several of my friends are local FFLs who will have tables. But if there's a line, I'm going to talk my way in through the back or something. I'm worried that some friends who are going to their first show will be driven away from the whole show experience for life. I'll give a report a week from now.

I went to a gun show yesterday.

It opened at 9:00, so I thought i'd beat the rush and get there about 20 minutes early.

Boy, talk about delusional. :what:

I got in the (long) line and when the doors opened it took me 20 minutes before I got in.

I was there for about 50 minutes before leaving. As I went out the door, the line was still as long as it was when I first arrived. People were adding to it as fast as they were getting in the building.

It's been a while since I went to a show. Since before the elections, in fact. Real eye-opener.

I only went to try to find primers. I found them, paid way too much, then went home to both grumble about the price and alternate being glad I found them at all. There was only one seller that had any primers, and he was sure proud of them.

With that kind of turnout ...

... loopholes must be in high demand, since the gunshows are reportedly full of them.

Looks like Austin ... I was number 30 in line yesterday, had to get there 35 minutes early ... by the time it opened there were probably 300 people in line ... I was inside for about an hour, got some ammo tho nowhere near what I wanted ... when I left, the line was still about 200 people long, parking lot jammed ... last year at this time, you could fill a wheelbarrow with (relatively) cheap ammo, get a good deal or two on a gun and head home happy ... now .. it's a total bummer ...
