The Father of my boss granted me permission to hunt and shoot on his land. He has roughly 1,000 acres of property ( ) that is undeveloped. "Lots of deer, lots of turkey, lots of pheasant, some pig, and the occasional but rare black bear," I was told. The only people who hunt or go on there (legally) are his son and his daughter's boyfriend who occasionally shoots.
I nearly wet my pants. I've never had access to something like this before. And never access to any land since I've been in Kentucky. So I'm going to do some serious hunting this year.
It is near Taylorsville lake so maybe I'll find a nice fishin' spot. I'll have to ask him.
Edit to add: If you are a praying man, my boss' father also has some kind of terminal cancer. Of the throat, I believe. So they are all pretty upset about it. He went to the doc many times over the last year and they always said he just had indigestion or heart burn. One doc decided to check more closely and found the cancer after it had did its thing and gone too far. Sad.
