Here are some pics of my the newest addition to my family. I always enjoy how you guys share photos of your new purchases, so I figured I'd carry the torch as well. Thanks to everyone who shared their information and experience in helping me make this decision!

Congrats....I bought mine used from a member here. I love mine and it has been flawless for aprox 400 rds plus it's prevoius life. It is actually comfortable to shoot unlike my LCP.

I'm a fairly big guy at 6'2" 230lb. The PM9 with a standard 6rd magazine is a much more comfortable shooter to me than the LCP with the mag extension. I was expecting the PM9 to hurt but the grip is just long enough that I can get a good grip. LCP requires a re-grip after each shot at the range.

Just picked up my K9 today. Can't wait to try it out this weekend. It's almost the same exact size as my P11, if you can believe that.

I love mine. If it's not going to be a BUG, check out the Pearce grip extensions. Also, the seven & eight round mags work too.

The trigger takes some practice, but the gun is incredibly accurate once you get some practice in.

Now go dump 200 rounds through it like the manual says! You'll be amazed how much it loosens up after that.

Congrats on your new gun. I just took my new PM9 to the range yesterday and fired 150rds through it. It was PERFECT!! I love it.

Thanks everyone. And the Pearce grip extensions have already been ordered and am awaiting their arrival. Also waiting on an extra magazine, a FIST K8 holster, a FIST pocket holster and a some Winchester White Box to refill my supply of what I'm about to empty!!!

PM9

I got mine in Mid January and I'm closing in on 1,000 rounds fired without a single issue. Goes everywhere with Me. If You haven't already found this lube chart it was posted over on GT by a forum member there . later WVleo

I've shot 200rds through mine on Monday and 200rds last night, Wednesday. No FTE's or FTF's but last night, on my first 50rd batch, I chambered a round, went bang, then when I pulled again, nada. I was going to slap the bottom and rack the slide but quickly stopped to see what the failure was. Then I saw that the magazine had released. I guess on the first shot, the recoil moved my weak hand in a way that the palm pushed the protruding mag release.

Has this happened to anyone else? I wonder if I can grind the thing down a bit.

Also, to the OP, I'm using a DiSantis SuperFly pocket holster and it doesn't print. Also the silicone outter surface seems very tacky and holds inside the pocket well. But the inside is fairly tight so the gun is a bit hard to pull out quickly. It's nice that the gun is held tightly when moving around but I wouldn't expect it to fall out of my pocket anyways. It's kind of annoying that it takes patience to draw.

But I picked up a cheap universal Blackhawk nylon IWB holster in size 7 and it's real comfortable and works like a charm. It doesn't fit tight but isn't so loose that it wants to fall out if I'm jumping up and down. Plus the extra pressure from the belt helps to keep it firmly in place but it's still very quick to draw. It's made of a neoprene material like a wetsuit so perspiration won't affect it too much. And it's so inexpensive that I could afford to get a new one every year if it came to that.

Thanks for lubrication information. I had a frustrating run at first with my new pistol, I think partly in fact to my failure to give it a good lubrication before I went out. After reading the owner's manual, as opposed to my original skimming, I saw the lubrication section.

I had fired off about 3 rounds before it started FTE after every shot. After about 40 rounds, and sheer frustration, I went to my car and got my WWB JHP out of my Ruger P89. I loaded them, hoping the CCI Brass was the problem. It fired 15 of them flawlessly. Then I reloaded the CCI, and shot another 40 rounds flawlessly. Needless to say my new Kahr got a good lubing when I got back home!

Congrats!

Get a plastic wrap-around grip for it. It'll provide finger groves and some extra purchase on the small frame (I have big hands).

It's not a range gun, and you can feel it slow down after 100 rounds, but I only had failures to feed for the first few rounds I ever shot - none since.

Enjoy! (I carry mine IWB in galco leather - works nicely.)

VERY IMPORTANT - My kahr only feeds when you drop the slide from slide-lock. I haven't tried it in awhile, but it generally doesn't feed when you rack the slide manually. Others have voiced similar concerns. I think it says something about it in the manual, but I can't recall.

I'm

still breaking mine in, as of this week 19,250 flawless rounds through it. Never a blimp, just goes bang every time, Best ccw gun I have ever owned. Shoots any ammo that goes into the pipe to, extremely accurate, its a better shooter than I am , that is for sure. Mine shows zero signs of any wear, and I have alot of cylinder and slide custom work in it along with some addtional grip stippling and slide melting work done by Accuarte-Iron. com.
Also have it magna ported and just a super pleasent gun to shoot. I won a G19 and Smith M & P 9 and a K9 but find myself wanting to shoot my PM9 far more, because it is my 24/7 carry peace and just a fun gun to shoot..

One can rack the slide on a kahr and it will feed OK, but kahr recommends using the slide lock lever to load that first round. WHY??? many ask, well alot of times when one racks the slide they tend to ride the slide back to battery therefore causing ftf issues. kahrs are tight, very tight IMO and even thousand sof rounds down range, they will remain tight.

if you use the slide lock lever release like kahr manual states, you are releasing the slide with the same velocity every time perfectly. You wn't have ftf issues if u use the slidle release lever, BUT one can also master the racking the slide manually to. TAP, RACK AND BANG requires one to master it...

Also on the PM9's just not alot of slide area to grab either. One needs to come in from the top of the slide with full hand over the rear of the slide and u can rack very reliably..

Great gun the PM9..

Nice piece and all.... but I just wanna know who does your manicures. Cummon now... you're not really from Texas. San Francisco...?

;)

chris in va

that K9 u pictured is one of 1500 to 2000 that kahr made back in Dec. of 94 and started shipping to dealers in March of 95. If you bought it new now I wonder where it has been all these years for Kahrs IS NOT MAKING THIS GUN TODAY and only made about the number I quoted you.

Assuming this photo is the carbon black steel slide on a stainless frame. Check your serial #, I bet it is either 401xxxx or ABxxxx

update March 31, 2 p.m. Indeed Chris in W. Va K9 dual tone is brand spanking news. It is a very limited run of duo tone kahrs with the stainless frame and 4040 steel slide. Kahr is just cleaning up some left over production slides. It also has the NYPD trigger in it and is really a super looking K9 IMO.

I wish kahr would introduce the K9 in duo tone finish now.

nice gun chris and I apologize if I tried to make it look like it was an old gun. Don't know how many they made of this model either. If anyone is interested in getting on, they should contact their dealer and ask if he can get you model K9093BX (duo tone)

I've had mine for a long time and I don't know how many rounds have been shot through it with never any hitch of any kind. Like I've said before it's like the energizer bunny - it just keeps on going and going. A true keeper.

Congrats on the PM9. It is my favorite pocket pistol. My runs fine as long as it is clean and you keep a firm grip. My son has a tendensey to limp wrist and this will prevent the slide from returning to battery. I also added the Pearce grip extension so my pinky has somewhere to rest. The biggest improvement I made was the Agrip. It is amazing how something so thin can reduce the bite so much. The FIST thin kydex pocket holster is my favorite for it.

Now go dump 200 rounds through it like the manual says!

Good advice. There are a lot of former Kahr owners who thought they bought a lemon simply because they didn't read the manual and break the pistol in.
