What does everybody think of the FS2000??? Does anybody know what kind of warranty FN provides?

I admit it, this picture from the Terminator Salvation movie sparked my interest in the fs2000 again!!!

I don't like it (and I love bullpups). Just too bulky and clumsy for my taste. I like the PS90 much better, except for the caliber. :banghead:

definitely better than an AUG-type rifle

I don't agree either.

I actually sold my FS2k today and decided to keep just my MSAR instead. Between the two guns I had over $4k invested and with mounting debt I decided it would have to come down to one or the other. Besides the fact the I like the MSAR more I also figured that since the FS2k was a fairly recent purchase I could probably get most of my money back on it.

I didn't really mind the ergonomics of the FS2k but in my opinion the MSAR is a better rifle with much better ergonomics. Don't get me wrong the FS2k is a fine gun and very well built and definitely interesting but it's also not the most practical gun out there. Granted the MSAR isn't the most practical gun either but every time I take it out and shoot it I love it more and I just couldn't say that about the FS2k.

The way I see it if you have the spare cash sitting around and you want an interesting and unique gun that is well built and fun to shoot then buy the FS2k. I will miss having one but I'm not going to miss how much it set me back financially. The MSAR was cheaper and in the end I should have just stuck with it and ignored the FS2k, well you live and learn.

NWilliams. What was it about the MSAR that left you deciding on that one? I've eyeballed these two rifles for a year or so, and the ejection port on the AUG clone was one of the things that set me in favor of the FN offering. It seems you have to choose left side or right side ejection, thus limiting the ambidexterity of the rifle, where the FN offering has that forward ejection port that neither favors right nor left handers. The need for specialized magazines for the AUG is also a factor for me.

I guess I'm asking whether your decision was based on universal factors, or more of an individual ergonomics sort of analysis?

I couldn't find any information concerning warranties on FN's website.

Can anybody answer: What kind of warranty does FN provide for the FS 2000?

I couldn't either, but I THINK it is a lifetime warrantee. I apologize if I am incorrect...why is this so hard to find?

FS2K has ergos that aren't that great.
I can't help but compare all BP design rifles to my M17...and I find that it is quite a bit better than a FS2000 or AUG, but find the AUG to be better than the FNH.

Maverick223: I just emailed FNH USA asking them about the warranty, lets see if I get a reply.

i have one & love it. its so compact that you can keep very steady & lock into the target better. ive shot very tight groups at 25 & 50 yards with a red dot sight.also, being a lefty, its the 1st bullpup i can fire without a problem.the mag well is tight,& you can only use metal mags.its definitely much different than any other military type rifle ive fired...

I had to decide between the FS2000 and the Sig556 SWAT. They both would cost about the same thing for me ultimately. Maybe the FS2000 would be $100 more per gun ($200 more total since I buy in pairs).

I went with the Sig556 SWAT though ultimately. I liked the rail and think I prefer metal housing to plastic. It's the same reason I got the SWAT over the standard 556.

With that said, the FS2000 is a fantastic gun from what I can see. You probably won't regret it if you get one.

I still might get 2 FS2000s. We'll see. Gotta wait to save more cash though.

.cheese. Are you saying you bought two Sig556 SWAT rifles because you have a rule that says you can only buy guns in pairs? You are a genius!!!!!!!!!!!

Attention gun owners beginning May 27, 2009 you are only allowed to buy guns in pairs.

If your wife screams at you for buying guns in pairs just tell her "sorry it's a rule".

I have never actually shot one, but I handled one at a gun show, and that was enough to dissuade me personally (on top of the $2,000 price tag). That being said, I should also add that I grew up with traditional non-bullpup rifles, and to me the bullpups mostly seem stubby and awkward- more of a compromise that a person in cramped quarters would have to settle for rather than a rifle I would go out of my way to purchase. Of course, different strokes for different folks and all of that. Some folks like the compact designs, and if that is you then you might appreciate the FS2000 and the PS90 more than I do. They just don't feel comfortable to me, like there isn't enough rifle to grab a hold of. I guess it just depends on what you are used to and what your wingspan/body type is. I can't give any input as to function or reliability, but FN is usually pretty good in that department. Fit and finish looked pretty good IIRC.

You can't even use PMags? They are pretty thin compared to other poly mags.

Cheese is not married because he decided to buy guns in pairs. :neener:

while we're on FNH....has anyone shot a SCAR?? I handled it at 2008 SHOT show in Las Vegas and I have not seen one since, but it seems to be out on gunbroker for a lot of $$$. If you can afford it, SCAR looks a lot better than FS200 IMO.

How did it handle? I have a friend that handled one and he said that it had good ergonomics but was pretty heavy on the fore-end.

Try as I might, I just can't see that these new rifles are so much better than my HK93 clone to warrant dropping more money on one.

The old '93 keeps popping out the rounds and doesn't seem to worry much about it. Only thing is the brass is pretty nastified (if you can find it... being slung about 25 yards), and I wouldn't want to reload it. That and $60+ magazines.

I was able to shoot a full-auto version once. A friend's dad has access to one because he's on the local SWAT team. I don't really care for the trigger. It was cool that you could flutter it in semi-auto to make it fire like fully automatic. I don't know if the civilian semi-auto versions are like that too. While I thought it was an impressive firearm, I personally would use the money elsewhere.

I have yet to find a bullpup with a decent trigger. Not that I've bothered much after the first couple I checked out, AUG knockoff, and some kind of kit looking thing in .22LR based on a Marlin 60. Can it really be THAT hard to make one with a good trigger?

The truth is I think the FS2k is a little too modern for my tastes. I'm a big fan of older and more classic gun designs. The MSAR is essentially an improved Aug but still retains that classic look and feel. Having been a huge admirer of the Steyr Aug since my childhood I think that's one of the main reasons why I decided to keep it and sell the FS. The fact that it uses proprietary doesn't really bother me, I've got plenty of mags for it so I'm satisfied. The fact that the FS is more ambidextrous friendly is a nice feature but not a big selling point to me.

I guess I'm just a sucker for those old classic gun designs. The same thing happened after I bought a PS90. I just could not fall in love with the thing so I got rid of it, shortly afterward I picked up an IMI Uzi and I have absolutely fallen head over heels in love with it.
