Good day.........any first hand experiences with the FN FS2000 ? my thanks in advance.

www.fivesevenforum.com

Under the tactical rifles section there are tons of reviews and reports on the FS2000.

I ordered one yesterday, just in case the 'rats get elected and start banning every gun in sight.

I paid $1799 for it NIB. That seems to be the only reasonable price I've seen so far. Everyone else wants $2000+ :scrutiny:

What the hell is so bad ass about the f2000 that it costs $2,000! Does it cook eggs in the morning? Does it give you a bath? Can it baby sit? What does it have that no other sub-$1,000 rifle has?

I swear if I was to paint my crap gold someone would buy it.

SWAT Magazine had a nice piece on it recently. It sounded like a really innovative firearm; but they mentioned that there was no way to easily access the chamber if you needed to clear a double-feed. That didn't strike me as a great idea on a military rifle.

Some guns are just worth more. More detail, more robust, more that's hard to explain to someone convinced anything over $1000 is too much. "Just right" costs more.

I'll tell you why it's worth $2000. Supply and demand. It has NO competition. There is no other option for a new 223 bullpup configured rifle. From the reviews I've seen it's not even as accurate as my M17S (an arguabley medeocre weapon).

You need to realize we live in a free-market economy where things are sold based on what people will pay, and not on what they are worth. My local gun store got in 8, had 4 pre-sold, and the last 4 didn't last a day an a half. All sold at or very near $2,200 and the people getting them were happy to part with the money before hopping in their Mercedes with it.

Maybe it's expensive to me because I'm saving up money for college, I work at toys r us part time, and my last paycheck was $23!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn you toys r us!:cuss: :fire:

Oh well. Hopefully finishing college will change that. Class 3 anyone?

Yes, it can cook eggs. Use blanks. Pretty easy to aim in the kitchen, what with close confines and all.

The one I handled was certainly an interesting weapon. However there was FAR too much plastic in the gun to make me want to run right out and get one at that price. Plastics are certainly valid materials for stocks (even superior) but it looked like half the internals of this rifle were plastic as well - and that just bugs me. I'm sure it's probably well engineered and would last a long time ... but it still bugs me.

I didn't know that "just right" included a trigger pull that feels like it came off a staple gun.

I'm betting on the guys that designed the AUG 'trigger tamer' to develop something for the FS2000 too.

Like I said, the plastic is probably very well engineered. But molded plastic parts cost almost nothing to produce compared to milled or even cast metal parts. Obviously, the cost savings is not being passed on to the buyer. That old "supply and demand" strikes again.

A thing is only worth what someone will give for it.

Show me a comparable bullpup .223 for less (and yes, little things like forward ejection, balance, etc. are worth more).
