Precision Delta is Killing Me!

seems some posters are confusing the two bullet companies, Precision Delta and the guys that make only cast bullets, I had to wait 1 month for my order, that's not too bad nowadays. People were nice, apolagetic, and as helpful as you could ask. I think they are agetting an unfair rap.

Just checked P.D. prices:

9mm Luger 115gr FMJ 1000 $68.00
PDB-B-9-124-FMJ 9mm Luger 124gr FMJ 1000 $72.00
PDB-B-9-147-FMJ 9mm Luger 147gr FMJ 1000 $84.00
PDB-B-9-147-FMJ-TC 9mm Luger 147gr FMJ-TC 1000 $84.00

These are lower prices than anyone else I can find. No wonder a small shop is swamped.
They gained some notoriety supplying ammo to successful LEO competitors.
Now the whole world is emailing, calling, faxing or even shouting "where's my order!".

After getting through about 2/3 of the first 1000 I've decided that these are some of the best bullets I've ever shot. So I've already ordered 2000 more.

Accuracy always beats quick.

See my July 26 post above? My order was placed on July 11 and confirmed.

I have NOT seen any bullets yet. We're not far from the 3 month mark.
My enthusiasm seems to be waning for PD.

I placed an order a couple weeks ago. I got a call from them about 2 weeks after I placed my order. They said the bullet I ordered (124 gr FMJ 9mm) would be unavailible until Dec-Jan time frame, but I could have 115 gr FMJ in 3 weeks.

I satisfied that I got the call. Now I know what i'm getting into. Since I'm in no rush and am just starting to add 9mm to my list of calibers, I'm not in a hurry.

Cancel your order if you aren't satisfied. Money is like your backside. It is yours and it is portable.

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

I switched to Montana Gold for 2K--they came fast, and decided to try the Zero JHP next--on order.

Just info: My first 1000 of MG 124gr CMJ came in small 100 pk boxes. These bullets had really good length consistency. Maybe 4/5% would show up while checking cartridge OALs.

My 2nd 1000 came in a bulk plastic bag, and there has been a high percentage (20%?) that varied as much as much as .006" to .008" bullet length. Way more than the first 1000.

Heh RF: I'll send you PD 124 FMJs if you'll send me Federal SPPs.:banghead:

My experiences with Precision Delta have been fantastic from a customer service standpoint. They have struggled to keep up with demand but I have never had any problem getting someone on the phone and when I do they are great to deal with. Besides, they can understand my southern english which is a big plus. Maybe try yes maam, please, and sweetie when you inquire about the status of your order.

Maybe try yes maam,
Has always worked well for me. Manners are not as common as they used to be, and people appreciate them. (A little bit of Southern accent never hurts either ;))

Personally I think Ants has the right idea. Call, politely explain your problem, and cancel the order. There are way too many companies selling bullets to bother getting irritated by one of them.

I have experienced significant delays in delivery from PD. Sometimes, they have the bullets in stock and ship quickly. Sometimes, it seems that the production run is scheduled a ways out and I need to wait for a bit. The longest I've had to wait is about ten weeks.

I've simply learned to place orders in advance of being out/dry. Their product and their prices are worth it.

Wow, this thread is old. Things should be picking up by now. I can't believe that they could be that far behind. Oh how nice that would be to know you have 3 months worth of higher income in the future.

Saving in advance of a purchase isn't a bad thing, and I try to practice it as much as possible.

Glad you chimmed in Jake. I was just going to suggest the poster contact you/your Co.==Super service+quality products!!!!!!!!!!!

My wait was about a month, woman who I spoke with was pleasent an appologetic. I would say the wait was reasonable in these times.

So I called on Friday. The phone was answered right away and the woman was very pleasant and eager to help. It seems the problem is with the 124gr RN. They're just not making them. 115gr RN (which I already had a pile of from Magnus) could be had right away. She confirmed, "We probably won't be making 124gr until January or February." She had to go get a planning sheet to tell me this, so they must be fairly well organized. At least they have printed plans!

I love their 124gr RN for my competition shooting. They feed well and they always seek out the A-zones. I'll certainly try them again in the future, but for now it's onto other vendors.

Odd that they sell 9mm JHP ammunition but not JHP bullets.
If all they offer is FMJ's why the long delays?
