any other FN .45 lovers out there ?
I really enjoy shooting it - so easy on your hand and soooooo accurate...

I could not be happier with mine - matte stainless version. I bought it primarily as a HD gun, but find I take it to the range nearly every trip too.

Took ~100 rounds break-in before it started to shoot straight; very long trigger-pull, especially so in DA mode. But I like it; shoots everything.--Patrice.

A P-90? Huh? Magazine capacity is what?

I see Ruger sells a nice "8-Shot, .45 Auto caliber magazine"

We're talking about a gun with 14- and 15-round mags.

I never understood the complaint about a gun having a long trigger pull. You pull until it goes off. I guess if somebody is weak and shaky it might pose a problem, but if you can hold the front sight on the target it works just fine.

Why? Are you allergic to it?

I shoot outside and when it's really cold and damp I appreciate polymer. I hate having my finger freeze to metal.

I'm a big FN fan and have been curiously eyeing this pistol for a long time but... The trigger is plastic? Wow. Didn't know that.

I think I'll be crossing this one off the list. No wonder they can't sell them for under $600.

I'd put the FNP45 on my of guns to buy if it can be carried cocked and locked. I put a few mags though a FNP-40 and enjoyed it.

Kenw., I believe the FNP 45 USG model has both a decocker or safety available. Plus, it comes with two 14 round mags and a 15 round mag, although the 15 round mag is sort of bulbous at the bottom to accommodate the extra round which I don't particularly care for.

I really like mine.

My FNP 45's safety is configured exactly like my USP 45F. You can carry it cocked and locked, the decocker is engaged by pushing the safety all the way down.

Is the trigger entirely plastic or does it have a steel backing at least?

That maybe I could understand because it would protect your trigger finger if the gun was use in extremely cold conditions.

From what I remember of when I held one in the store (this past winter), it was an all-plastic trigger. But I was surprised that there was no flex, at least in the one I dry fired. That was one of the concerns I had with this gun but was pleasantly surprised compared to some of the other polymer guns I've tried.

I wanted one for a while. It had everything i wanted for a HD gun chambered in 45. External hammer, DA/SA w/ the ability to be cocked and locked, high capacity, an accessory rail and priced reasonably at ~$600-$650. But then i picked one up and it is a very large gun. it takes some big mits to wrap around that grip. The only other gun that im aware of that has these options is the Taurus PT845.

My buddy had a 24/7 and it was a 12 or 3+1 45 but the grip wasnt that bad at all. THe PT845 is basically the same design with a few changes.

I love my FNP .45 ACP dearly. I don't care if the trigger is made out of recycled milk jugs....mine works perfect. Some people nit pic stuff to death when they can't afford it. I got two extra 15 rd mags at a gun show by swapping some 20 yr.old sks ammo for two. It feels good to have 15 in the mag and one in the pipe with 58 more rounds loaded on my shoulder rig. The pistol fires everything without a hitch. I have over 2000 rds. through mine with no problems at all. I like the 15 rd mag because it acts as a shock absorber if the pistol is ever dropped. My FNP .45 acp is a GOV. model so it does have a safety as well as a decocker.
