Glock 18C

There are no transferrable G18s. They were not even imported until after the Hughes Amendment took effect IIRC. The few transferrable auto glocks out there are converted G17s made before May 1986.

Aren't there supposed to be some transferrable post '86 guns that crooked politicians strongarmed the ATF into registering, so they could sell them to fund campaigns? What I heard through the rumor mill, anyway.

I've heard rumors of that done with other post-86 items, never a G18. And no one has ever been able to actually prove any of these rumors. Besides, even if some connected person was able to get one into the NFRTR as transferrable, it wouldn't really be "transferrable" since ATF almost certainly would not approve its sale to a non-connected individual.

maybe if you ask the atf kindly they'll make an exception and let you convert your G17? if not theres a youtube video floating around by possibly they or some jerk bordering coercion to entrapment:uhoh:I wouldnt click on it unless you're prepared for consequences. Besides, watching videos of the G18, it doesnt look too practical outside spray and pray. A fine shooter can place far more semi-auto rounds more accurately than a full auto. I learned that in the army with the M16.

Hughes Amendment has nothing to do with it. GCA of 1968 prohibited importation of machine guns except for gov't sales. This is what a "Pre-86" dealer sample is, a machine gun imported between 1968 and 1986. So no possibility of a transferable G18 or anything else from outside the U.S. that has been manufactured in the last 42 years.

Personally, I don't believe there are any converted G17's that are transferrable. The first G17's came into the US in early 1986, just a few months before the cut off date for transferrables. I don't think anyone thought up a conversion and got a pistol registered in time, but if a ever see a Form 4 listing a Glock as a Machine Gun then I will know I am mistaken.

Never shot the 18C, but have shot the 18 a lot. With a little practice and the right technique it is very controllable, not a spray and pray bullet hose like everyone who hasn't shot one likes to claim.

I thought we had been over this once previously? Oh yeah...here it is....

Merely giving someone the information needed to commit a crime...ala a youtube video....doesn't even come close to "entrapment" under the law. In order to prove entrapment, you have to prove force, intimidation, or coercion to commit a crime that you wouldn't commit under other circumstances. Knowing how to make a full auto pistol is common knowledge in many circles....actually coverting, however, is another story altogether. I can't be arrested for knowing how to make methamphetamine, but making it is another story altogethjer. Having the knowledge and using it are two entirely different things. "Entrapment" is a hard sell, and claiming a youtube video "forced or coerced" somone to make illegal modifications to their firearm is a stretch even the most liberal of courts won't make. Watching videos isn't a crime, but making machine guns without the proper legal permissions certainly is. They are FAR from being one and the same. This isn't "Minority report"....we don't arrest people for THINKING about committing a crime or having knowledge that COULD POTENTIALLY be used for an illegal act. I wouldn't think twice about clicking on any video showing the conversion, as there is absolutely no legal ramifications for doing so. No need to promote excessive paranoia

I've fired a converted 17. I have to say it was the most fun full auto I've ever gotten to play with. I'd like to put one in a HERA stock, that would be tits.
