$200 seems high..but I will say most 59s I have seen were in great-- almost unfired condition...They are 91/30s that were cut down (like one of the posters said).

91/59 rifles have fairly good accuracy and were built for use as Warsaw Pact surplus from what I've gleaned.
I had one a few years back and traded it in sheer ignorance.
The M44 was more of an "urban" combat rifle and was purpose built from the onset.
I have two, a 1946 and 1948, Izshvesk arsenal, one all mactching and one with mismatched bolt. Both guns are in E/C and were Century Arms imports.

The '48 appears to have been unissued as there are no arsenal marks and it matches complete with all parts with no scrubbing.

I have two M91/59's and both are very accurate. I have M44's and M38's also and none of them compare to the M91/59's in accuracy. I have heard the same from others.
What is the same is the tremendous muzzle blast.
Generally, M91/59's are selling for $150 to $225. Allan's Armory has them for sale.
