IMO, it is all a matter of personal preference... FMJ's will do the job nicely if you shoot where you need to shoot no matter the caliber... JHP's are USUALLY a better choice but results in smaller calibers are not consistent as there may or may not be adequate energy to expand the bullet... Personally, I would go with FMJ's in 380s or less but if I go with JHP, I would choose the Critical defense rounds... from what I have seen they have better consistency in their expansion.

I'd never feel undergunned with FMJ's

I vote Neither.

I think some previous post referred to it as a "dutch" load.

JHP and FMJ alternating in my .40 (though I know this is for smaller guns, you can do the same)

I don't doubt my ability to keep on COM if I fail to stop the threat with the first shot, and I will get through with something eventually. (even if they're wearing a magical Bulletproof Down jacket)

Some people have mentioned using Fiocchi in .32acp because it is supposedly hotter. I recently shot a box through my PPK, in magazines rotating through Fiocchi, Aguila, Prvi Partizan, and S&B. The Fiocchi rounds produced clearly less recoil and noise than the others, shot lower, and suffered a number of FTFs. I'm pretty suspicious of the stuff now.

OBTW, the Fiocchis also produced by far the least soot on the ejected casings, but I don't know that that means anything.

My 380 is loaded with FMJ for both optimal feeding and max. penetration. No HP's for me in this caliber.

Now I do have HP's in my 45 ACP, 44 mag, and 10MM. I don't think there is alot of contraversy there.

The poll would make more sense if the cartridges option were separated.
I use FMJ in .32acp and JHP in .380acp. Many people do likewise.

Just a thought...................maybe you should have a poll listing those choices. :D
