Canada's Gun Registry set to be Abolished

Or it was. Now it's so close it might even be a tie.
Have any of you been hearing about this down south?

OTTAWA - As MPs return to work Monday, all eyes will be on a cliff-hanger vote Wednesday over the fate of the long-gun registry.

The vote over a Liberal motion to kill Conservative MP Candice Hoeppner's bill to scrap the long-gun registry will set the tone for a politically charged session, predicts NDP MP Peter Stoffer.

My car and I were searched for about an hour at the Canadian border, cause they thought with a Texas license plate, I really had a gun in the car.

So I would not be surprised at all about anything that happens in Canada and guns.

Although my Father worked as a border guard once, and a guy from TX came through. He was a retired police officer and my father asked him if he had any guns. The guy said no. Then my Father looked around, including under the steering wheel.

My Father: "So, did you hear about the new Smith and Wesson?"
Guy: "Which one?"

Then my father described the gun he had found taped to the steering column, and the retired cop got enthusiastic.

Guy: "Yeah, yeah, I've got one of those!"
My Father (pulls out gun): "You mean like this one?"

They let him go, but confiscated it.
