Giveaway, free biotac for halloween

First person to guess what color I dyed the micarta scales on my new Becker BK14 gets it. If more than one person guesses it I'll randomly pick from the names.

Rit dye from walmart. I used the pretreat product too. Soaked it about thirty minutes, rinsed, then soaked it in the dye. I think using a dye constitutes dying whoever said staining.

I think most micarta is laminated...these scales are not. Maybe that's why it was confusing to some people. I like the raw feel though. If someone knows how to achieve a smooth laminated feel id be interested...

The package said purple and in this pic it looks purple...

HOWEVER it looks very burgundy in person.
