I have two that seem to beat out the rest at present. One is a custom Caspian framed 1911 in .38 Super, and the other is a stock Ruger Security Six .357 4" barrel. Both will do darn near 1" groups at 25 yards. Usually, I am two hands over a sandbags when testing loads, but not Ransom rested, etc, so both guns could be more accurate. I have many pistols that shoot well; some are harder to be consistentent with, though. These two make it easy. What do the rest of you have that beats out the rest?

It's a toss up...

I have a .45 ACP Colt Government Model turned into a wadcutter gun by the late Jimmy Clark of Shreveport, Louisiana.

I also have a very nice S&W model 41.

The third contender is a very nice S&W model 52.

They're scary accurate.

I second the 686, although mine has an 8" barrel.

After hunting season I readjusted my sights to 100 yards, then shot this group.

I really want to get a scope for this gun, but never seem to have the cash.

4" S&W Model 28-2, Highway Patrolman

... all original.

25 Yards, double action 2 hand hold unsupported. 1 shot every 5 to 7 seconds. 158 grain RNL and 4.0 grns W231. 3" overall grouping. Excluding 1st two shots (high), after grip adjustment, the final 4 shots (low) went into a 1.25" grouping.

Another one for the 4in. Security six. Most inexpensive gun i've ever bought. Outshoots my smith revolvers, my 6 1/2 in Blackhawk,my 1911, my XDm,both glocks i've owned. I just smile in amazement every time I shoot it.

Probably my S&W model 41 or Dan Wesson .22 revolver, although I was VERY impressed by the accuracy of my CZ82 with Silver Bear ammo. Could not believe i could put EVERY shot on paper at 25 yards unsupported. Scares me to think what it might do with a quality ammo!

Centerfire - 1994 Silver Chrome Browning Hi Power MK III

Rimfire - Benelli MP95E "Atlanta" .22LR

I don't have full sized service weapons. However, it would be my Kimber Pro Raptor and Glock 23.

It used to be my Para P14 but I traded that away.

Since you said "handgun" - my factory Contender will shoot 3/4" at 100 yards off a bench.
In a wheelgun it would be my old S&W 19-3 loaded with wadcutters.

1) 4" Ruger GP-100. You can't miss with this thing even if you try.

2) CZ82- Packs a punch, but anything within 20 yards is POA.

Without a doubt it's my Dan Wesson 15-2 VH8 but almost right beside it is a Colt Series 70 Gold Cup National Match. I believe that if the Colt had the sight radius of the DW it would be just as good. Wait, that makes it a shooter thing and not the gun so I guess it's a tossup between the two. :D

Buck Mark Camper. This was shot at 10 yards off of a sandbag rest, at an indoor range. 10 shots 1/2" group.
