Just bought my first gun (AR15)

So far I love it, but one thing worries me. When I tilt the gun forward, I hear what sounds like an internal part moving inside the gun. Whatever it is it only sounds like it moves a millimeter or two. Is this a normal thing to happen?

Also, I have a habit of repeatedly dry firing the rifle and cocking the charging handle (gun is clear every time). I've only done this 10 or 20 times ,is this in any way damaging to the gun?
 
Sling swivel or recoil spring. Try locking the bolt to the rear and see if that cures the sound. Mine shoots great and the recoil spring makes just the slightest amount of noise.

Dry fire is a great way to get used to your rifle...
 
I just separated the upper from lower and the sound is coming from the buffer tube/ spring. Any way to fix it?
 
Telescoping stock? It could shift slightly when you tilt.

If not that maybe something loose in the receiver extension, you could remove the buffer/spring and look inside.
 
Dry firing is fine, I believe most Marines who qualified in boot camp with an AR spent a week dry firing their weapon.
 
In comparing my first gun (a Winchester Model 67, single-shot, .22 rifle) with yours, I think I've got the better squirrel gun. :)

No need to fret about the noise you're hearing. Dionysusigma probably got it right-its the weights inside the the buffer.
